Bad Voice Acting

| I'm pretty sure you all know how Mega Man X7 is infamous for it's bad voice acting; Most of them I'm able to deal with, save for Flame Hyenard...
X4 didn't have very good voice acting either, and even the Japanese version of that game sounded... meh.
ZX Advent wasn't the best, but it wasn't the worst; It was okay in my opinion.
But I want to know; Who's voice do you guys think was the worst? For me, it was Flame Hyenard.
I don't want to fight... But if I want to protect the ones I love and care for, then I will do whatever it takes to do so.

| I've only heard snippets of Flame Hyenard and THAT made me cringe. Euugh.
Honestly I didn't care too much for Prometheus in ZXA. His voice didn't sound....well, insane enough. His Japanese voice was outright nuts at times, especially when he attacked "Albert" before your last confrontation with him and Pandora. Pandora wasn't all that great either. Too softspoken.
And OF COURSE, the horrid personification of Zero in X4 that made him sound more like a whiny prepubescent teen instead of the badass that he is. And X7 was even worse because they tried to mimic his deep voice in the Japanese version and failed horribly.
And don't EVEN get me started on Axl's X7 voice...
But, all in all, for me the worst voice was Prometheus. It just didn't fit at all.
I wish I could avoid violence...but if I did, this world wouldn't be able to live in peace. So I will fight for this world, to protect humans and Reploids alike.

| Really? I thought Prometheus was okay. And Pandora is supposed to be soft-spoken.
Seriously though, Flame Hyenard could give you an ear rape. "BURN BURN BURN TO THE GROUND BURN TO THE GROUND!!!" I just wanna go to my room and hide my face in my pillow...

| I've never really played any of the games with voice acting... I did watch a few videos online, mainly of X4 and Mega Man ZX Advent (the American version with English voice acting, since the European version had all the voice acting cut! D:<). I didn't find either of them bad, X4 just sounded a bit silly at times (what am I fighting foooooooooooor!?), and ZX Advent was fine! Prometheus didn't sound as crazy as his Japanese counterpart, and Vent just seemed softly spoken (unlike in the megamerge cutscene when he sounded a lot stronger). Can't really say more than that, haven't played enough games with actual voice acting. :/

That why, every time I play X7, I play with the Japanese voices they fit better.

| You and me both. Axl's english voice when he says 'Red! Nooooooooo!' it makes me want to bash myself with a shovel.

| Axl's voice wasn't so bad, just that the voice acting for most of the characters sounded so... hammy. X and Zero's voices didn't sound like how I imagined they would be either, they didn't seem like they fitted their character much at all (out of the three, I liked Axl the most...). The videos that I watched were bearable... until Flame Hyenard entered the scene! MY GOSH, I've never been annoyed by a character so quickly in my life!! DX

| Agreed. Mark Gathas as X, Lucas Gilbertson as Zero, and Jeffrey Wattson as Axl. Perfect setup.
I was also wondering just WHY Axl's voice in X7 was so familiar and when I looked it up, they did the voice of Pit in SSBB. Their voices are equally atrocious in my eyes.
By the way, I know this is Iris' thread but I have to ask: what's your opinion on Johnny Yong Bosch as Zero's new voice actor for Marvel Vs Capcom 3?

| Being a Bleach fan, every time Zero used one of his attacks that happens to have a Japanese name (like Rekkouha or Sogenmu) I always half expected a "Getsuga Tensho" or "Zangetsu" to pop up in there somewhere.
I have a collection of his voice clips if anyone wants me to put them up.

@Fighting-Fefnir: Flame Hyenard is the one character I hate. I just can't stand him!! He sounds like he'd been smoking pot for hours!! (And many know what smoking can do to your throat.) Just... Gag.
