| Roleplaying is meant to be fun, but if you take things too far, it's no longer fun for anyone. I'd like to take this time to set up some rules for RPing.
-PLEASE USE PROPER GRAMMAR AND SPELLING. I've said this before, but I feel I should say it again. Please use the correct grammar and spelling. I'll overlook it if it's a minor error or if you have a legitimate reason for messing up.
-NO ONE-LINE OR VAGUE STARTERS IN OPEN RPS. If your RP has a very vague starting post, it will be removed. Please give some background to the thread.
-LABEL YOUR RPS. Please list your RPs as either "Open RP" (meaning anyone can join), "@<user>" (where <user> is replaced with the person you would like to RP with), or "Romantic" (when it's for a pairing). This way, people will know if they are welcome.
-TITLE YOUR RPS AND GIVE AN EXPLANATION. Your RP MUST have a title and a brief summary under its title to give an idea of what it is. Any threads that do not meet both criteria will be removed or archived.
-ESTABLISH A PATTERN. If there are more than two RPers in any given RP, please develop a pattern for posting so nobody gets left behind. It's rather rude.
-HEADCANON? NO PROBLEM. Fans like to create what is known as "headcanon" (a fanmade theory that may or may not be considered canon). If you want to use headcanon, by all means feel free. I use it all the time for RPing as X (example: he is no longer trapped in Cyberspace. That's headcanon enough as is).
-IF YOU DO A "ROMANCE" RP, NO R-18. We aren't a porn site. If you want to RP some hot and steamy kisses and action, feel free, but absolutely no sexual role-playing. Your thread will immediately be locked and you will be given a warning. You may however HINT at such interactions; however, you must mark the post as "NSFW" at the start of the post, and both spoiler-lock and user-lock the thread so that only users may see the thread.
If your posts do not have such cautions as of 6/4/13, your thread will be temporarily locked and the posts edited to be acceptable.
And finally...
-NO GOD MODDING. This is something that irritates me to no end: RPers in a battle who either automatically claim their attacks connect or miraculously dodge, block, or deflect any other attacks. Please please PLEASE don't do this. If you're setting up an attack, please don't automatically assume your attack will connect. Take into account other variables. I'll even provide an example of something acceptable in an RP battle. This was an RP done with a friend of mine; she RPed Atlas, and I RPed as Girouette using Biometal Model O. In this particular post, Girouette had slashed apart a ball of plasma that Atlas was charging for an attack.
If there was no reaction, Giro would use the momentum to swing the sword back up, then bring it crashing down. If there was a reaction, his posture meant he was ready to dash at any second.
What do you see here? I took into consideration that there may be a reaction from slashing apart a ball of raw plasma, and listed the two possibilities that I could go with. If you have an attack that needs to be charged (for example, a charged shot or a charged saber attack), do not "auto-fire" it. Meaning, don't charge and unleash it on the same post. Allow your RP partner to take action first.
This being said, I hope you have fun with your RPing.
I wish I could avoid violence...but if I did, this world wouldn't be able to live in peace. So I will fight for this world, to protect humans and Reploids alike.
