To simplify roleplaying, it is the practice of writing a scenario as if you were a certain character. You write the actions, the scenario, the character. Unlike writing solo, like a novel, however, you have partners. The purpose of roleplay is for different people to develop their character through interactions with other people's characters.
There are a few different formats for roleplay. The first is script, written as, well, a script for a movie or a play. The actions are written in brackets, parentheses, asterisks, things like that, while the text is separated. The second is "para", or paragraph roleplay, in which the entire post is written in paragraphs. The third is a mix of the two, with the bracket-style written like paragraphs, but the speech separated. In paragraph roleplay, the roleplayer can write in either first or third person perspective (second person is rather tricky to get right so it is usually not used), and in any of the three tenses. Common paragraph roleplay is written in third person past-tense.
To roleplay effectively, one should first study up on the character they choose. The closer and more reliable to the character you are, the more appealing you would be to other roleplayers. If you are roleplaying an OC (original character) it also helps to make sure your character is appealing to others, is a plausible character, and has a solid backstory that doesn't change on a whim. (Note: look in the forums for a good guide to designing a good OC) And above all, you must at least be able to write clearly so your partners can understand you.

Unfortunately, to prevent TOO much confusion, we do not allow for characters to be taken more than once. However, exceptions can be made in the following events: - The previous user willingly gives up the title
- The previous user is inactive for a set amount of time, which is still to be determined
- The previous user has been banned from the website
In the event that the former two happen, the user will be sent a confirmation message. If the user does not reply within three days, they will no longer be available to use the character and will automatically be removed. If the user has been banned, their account will be removed immediately and the character made available again. |

To limit the amount of noncanon characters, you may only have one OC, unless there is a legitimate reason for there to be more than one, in which case they are to stay on one account. You may only have multiple accounts if you are playing as multiple canon characters. |
I would highly recommend using this website to learn about your character of choice. Search through the wiki for your character and make sure you study them well! |

Absolutely! While we are an roleplay website, you are more than welcome to just make an account to talk about the franchise, post your works, and things of that nature. |

Unfortunately, for now, we are not accepting non-Megaman OCs into the forum. Sorry, it's to prevent confusion. Your account will be removed if your character is not a Megaman-series OC. |
