| Zero was walking down to the training room to meet X there. They had decided to train to see if the cyber elf had any of his old abilities. It would definitely be interesting if he did. The blond hadn't been feeling too well lately, but he'd managed to brush it aside and hide it from everyone else. It was probably nothing important anyway. Probably just a small virus that was trying to make him sick. His programming would take care of it sooner or later.
When he reached the training room he noticed that X hadn't gotten there yet so he just waited outside the room leaning against the wall. He examined his sword to make sure it was working properly and didn't need any maintenance. He would probably have to adjust the energy output if he were going to use it to spar with X. Either that or get one of the designated sparring swords, but they were strange to him. The weight was off to him, making them too light. Maybe it was because he was used to his older type sword, which was built to be a bit heavier.

| X casually dusted off his battle robes, which he hadn't donned since his sparring match with Red. They were still very comfortable to fight in and were lightweight, perfect for a sparring match. Hanging from the scarlet, ribbon-like belt around his waist was his saber and buster, his weapons of choice. He was an expert at long-ranged combat, but when fighting Zero he had to also be good at close-range combat, which he practiced during Zero's absence using the saber he'd salvaged.
The brunette walked down to the training center with a smile. "Hey, Zero," he called to the blonde in question as he neared the center. "Ready for our match?"
I wish I could avoid violence...but if I did, this world wouldn't be able to live in peace. So I will fight for this world, to protect humans and Reploids alike.

| Zero glanced up at X when he heard the brunette call out to him and smiled. "Ready when you are." He said before standing up straight. He'd donned his armor in case X landed a good hit. He didn't need to get too damaged. Especially when he was already 'sick'. He put his sword back in it's holder not wanting to just carry it around. He'd have to check it when they got inside the training room.

| X walked into the training center with Zero and approached the simulation console. "Okay, how do you want to train, wanna do a warm-up with simulated enemies, or get right into it?" he asked, pulling up various controls and menus. There was a near-endless number of training simulations they could run, right down to the smallest detail. Zero could pick what to do.

| "We can jump right into it if you're ready." Zero said following X into the simulation room. He took the time to check the energy output on his sword. He decided not to use one of the actual training swords. It would put him at a slight disadvantage. He lowered it enough to where it wouldn't hurt X too much, but it would sting quite a bit if he got hit.

| "Alright," said X. He started running through another simulations list. "Any particular settings you want? Your choice." The variety of settings to train in was vast, covering regions all over the planet in various eras.

| "A desert setting would be interesting." Zero commented and swung his sword around a few times to get a feel for the knew energy output. It actually made the sword a little lighter, but not nearly as light as the training ones. He hadn't fought in a desert in a long time. He wondered if it would inhibit him any.

| X chuckled and set the simulation for the Sahara Desert. Once the simulation began, the room immediately heated up as the surroundings changed to a sandy plain with a few cacti here and there, and a dry wind blowing through the area. X walked out onto the sand, ready to start training.

| Zero got into a ready stance and nodded to show that he was ready to start the sparring match. "Let's get going." He said waiting for X to make the first move. He tended to take an assessment of his enemy at the beginning of a battle and then adjusted how he fought accordingly.

| X examined Zero's fighting stance to determine the best mode of attack. Deciding to start at long range, the elf drew his Cyber Buster and fired a quick shot toward his right leg, which was almost always exposed.

| Zero easily dodged the attack by dashing to the left. He decided he would have to make the situation work to his advantage since X was a multirange fighter. He dashed towards X and horizontally slashed at the cyber elf's torso. He was glad he'd toned down the energy output, as he tended to forget to not attack to damage.

| X reacted rather quickly, drawing the saber at his belt and activating it, locking the two energy blades. No doubt Zero recognized its make; it was modeled after his old saber, the one X returned after Zero awakened, but with a few modifications. The most notable was aesthetic: the blade was bright blue.

| Zero smirked. "Interesting blade there, X." He commented noticing what it was modeled after and the interesting blade color. He quickly forced his energy blade against X's and tried to force the brunette down. He knew if X was crazy enough to stay sword locked like this then Zero would win rather quickly. Hopefully he didn't lose that many skills over the years.

| X couldn't help flashing a small grin. "Why thank you," he noted before jumping backwards. He wasn't an idiot; in a struggle like that Zero would always win. He was stronger than X by a long shot, but X had the advantage of speed. The brunette flipped in midair when he jumped back, firing off two shots from his buster.

| Zero backflipped backwards to avoid being hit before dashing forward again and jumping up into the air. At first glance it looked like he overshot where he meant to go, as he'd obviously go over X, but he spun in the air to try and slash X that way. The reach of the attack was more than enough to hit the brunette, but X could more than likely contort himself to avoid it, if he was quick enough anyway.

| X dropped down a bit to duck under Zero's attack, bringing up his saber to deflect it and knock the blonde off-balance. Now their size difference was actually advantageous; since X was smaller, he could dodge attacks easier. However it also meant he could easily be overpowered if Zero could outmaneuver him.

| Zero was thrown off balance, but he managed to catch himself by landing on his hand and vaulting himself back onto his feet. He contemplated using an energy gun to make the fight more even, but he wanted to get used to using his sword again so he decided against it. Instead he stood his ground where he was and waited for X to attack again. He'd have to find a way to get into a position to where he could actually overpower X. That was the only way he'd win this match.

| X couldn't hold back a small smirk at this point. Normally by now Zero would have pinned X on his back or against a wall with the saber at his throat. This was probably the first time the sparring match went in his favor.
X planted his left foot on the ground and kicked off in a modified glide-slash-dash toward Zero, bringing the saber up to slash on a diagonal toward the blonde's chest. It wouldn't cause any real damage at its power setting--maybe just tear his clothes.

| Zero dropped and fell onto his back before using his feet to kick X over him. He used the momentum to flip back over on his feet and he dashed after the brunette, planning on attacking him.

| Zero zig zagged out of the way of the shot and continued to advance on X. When he got close enough he tried to kick X in the chest and back up against one of the rock formations to get an advantage in the fight. He knew if he succeeded he'd be able to win. Then X would be forced to get into a power struggle to get away.

| X landed back on his feet just as Zero dodged the attacks and continued his advance. Damn! he swore mentally as he jumped backwards. At this rate Zero would win again. | At first the commands were accepted and Zero's systems started to regulate themselves again, but after a few minutes an alert sound came from the control panel. The word 'error' came up in all caps and in a bright red font. Apparently something was severely wrong with him.

| "Wh-what the--?!" That was all X could stammer out when the error message came up. X tried fervently to figure out what was wrong, only to find that he was locked out of the system. He attempted using his login codes to get back in.

| The control panel seemed to freeze again, more than likely making X think that it didn't work again. The only difference was that it didn't ask him to try again. After a few minutes another alarm went off.

| The console was easy to hack, but didn't offer any solutions. Instead it started acting on its own.
Execute file separated.
The virus manifested itself in the room, but he was a faint 'aura'. It was almost like he was a ghost. He was on his hands and knees and looked absolutely pitiful, which definitely wasn't a good sign considering his usual demeanor. He looked around confused before looking up at X. His hair was draped down around him. "X.. You should go.." He practically whispered. He wasn't able to talk much louder as most of Zero's systems were either failing or offline. He was trying to tell X to leave, and not come back. At least then he could pretend this wasn't happening.

| X could only stare in shock with his hands clasped at his chest. The virus was in terrible condition, which was a sure sign that something was very VERY wrong with Zero. Tears were starting to prick at the brunette's eyes as he realized that if the virus was in such terrible condition and telling X to just leave, it meant some horrible error had occurred and the virus didn't want X around for it.

| "X! Get out!" The virus tried to yell, but his voice came out choked and hoarse. He coughed and his arms gave out causing him to collapse on the floor. He closed his eyes. This was terrible. He wasn't so sure that Zero would come back from this. Or that he would for that matter. But that didn't mean he wanted X to be around to witness it. He didn't have enough strength to get up. He just laid on the floor, the cool tile feeling pleasant against his super heated self. His form was starting to waver slightly, as if he were starting to fade from existence.

| X was kneeling next to the virus in a heartbeat, trying to make sure he was alright. He was radiating so much heat that it felt like the brunette was next to an oven, but he ignored it as best he could. "J-just hang on, I-I'll get something to help you!" he managed to stammer out, voice almost pleading, as he stood and searched for some energy tanks, crystals, ANYTHING.
