| "That was almost too easy... wish you could have been more of a challenge!" Fefnir grumbled irritably, turning over the smoking remains of what used to be a large mechaniloid. The demolition vehicle, which had only been activated a few days ago had gone haywire for some reason - bulldozing a number of human homes down throughout the streets of Neo Arcadia before Fefnir arrived on the scene, putting an end to the rampaging machine with his twin cannons. Crouching down to extract the mechaniloid's AI core, Fefnir turned it over and over in his hands as he looked at the programming data within.
Close examination of the machine's small 'brain' revealed no signs of malicious tampering, although a subtle reprogramming code by a maverick with a grudge couldn't be ruled out just yet. It was too soon for the mechaniloid to have developed an error by itself, and to have gone crazy the moment it entered an inhabited district was far too much of a coincidence even for him to believe. No, there was definitely something strange going on, and Fefnir was going to find out what. Pocketing the AI core for now, the Jin'en Commander then made his way to the houses that had been collapsed by the demolition vehicle to make sure that nobody was trapped beneath the rubble. Thankfully the attack happened in the early afternoon while most people were outside, but it was possible for somebody to have been inside at the time, unable to escape when the mechaniloid ran amok.
"Heeeey, anyone there?" Fefnir called out as he stepped into the crumbling abode, wafting away the rising dust as it clouded the atmosphere. Metal, concrete and homely items were scattered everywhere. The stupid demolition vehicle had really done a number here...

Iris had just arrived at the scene when Fefnir went inside the destroyed building, and the woman was relieved when she saw that no one was hurt.
Or so she thought.
While Iris looked at the destroyed mechaniloid, debris could be heard moving inside.
A little human girl, somewhere around the age of eight or nine, was trapped under some debris. The poor thing felt sore all over, but was relieved to hear Fefnir's voice. "H...Help...?" She squeaked out, hoping Fefnir would hear her.

| ((OOC: Not at all, the more the merrier! :D))
Shifting aside large chunks of concrete and metal, Fefnir lifted his head as he heard the sound of footsteps nearby. For a moment he thought that it might be the humans who lived inside this particular abode, but to his surprise it was actually Iris, the female reploid he'd encountered not too long ago. He stiffened as he noticed her standing close to the fallen mechaniloid, not wanting her to get too close to it just in case it reactivated somehow, but then remembered that he now possessed its AI core. Without its 'brain' controlling its motions, the demolition vehicle was perfectly harmless... but then again, you could never underestimate what a maverick would do when Plan A failed...
"H-Help...?" he heard suddenly, the faintest squeaking of what was unmistakably a human child. At once the Jin-en Commander stopped what he was doing, looking around anxiously for the source of the voice. The house, while small, was almost completely caved, and a child could be anywhere - but there was too much debris lying around for him to tell exactly where the child's voice was coming from, and they were so quiet...
Biting his lip, Fefnir stuck his head outside of the shattered wall and called out to the female reploid nearby, waving her over anxiously. "Iriiiiiiiiis! I need your help!" he cried before pulling his head back inside, straining to listen out for the child shifting around somewhere underneath the heavy debris. One wrong step, and he could crush her worse than the scattered rubble of metal and stone.
((Note: I didn't misread your post and that the child is inside/underneath the mechaniloid, right? If so, just let me know and I'll edit this post accordingly >.<))

| ((Ah, the little girl is inside the house.))
Iris heard herself being called and looked at the direction of the voice, and smiled when she saw Fefnir. Following him inside the building, she was surprised at the damage that was created. "What is it, Fefnir?" She asked as she turned to the Jin'en Commander.
Meanwhile, the little girl under the debris frowned. She needed to raise her voice in order for Fefnir to hear her. She was a bit surprised when he called someone's name. Who was 'Iris'? After a few moments, the human heard a woman's voice, which held a British accent. Feeling a little more hopeful, the girl called out again, but a little louder this time. "I'm over here...!" She then coughed; Dust was in her throat, so she had a hard time speaking.

| ((Ah, gotcha. Sorry, been lacking reading comprehension a bit lately D:))
Turning his head as Iris entered the demolished abode, Fefnir smiled as the beautiful brunette came into view and immediately felt less anxious. Bringing down rampaging mechaniloids was one thing, but navigating inside a damaged building in search of a missing human child was quite another - definitely not the type of work his creator intended him for. To prove his point, the damaged wall crumbled down little more as Fefnir stepped forwards a few feet, towards to where a large panel of metal had fallen down. It seemed that it had once been attached to the wall, and judging from the sound of the child's voice, they should be somewhere around here...
"What is it, Fefnir?" Iris asked as she turned towards him, as the child's voice called out again. "I'm over here...!" she coughed, sounding a little louder than before. Narrowing his red eyes, Fefnir crouched down and gripped the edge of the great panel firmly, holding it steady as he judged its weight. Turning back towards Iris with a meaningful look, he began to lift the sheet up carefully, wincing at the loud groan it made.
"Somebody's inside this house, Iris. A little kid from the sound of their voice. I think she's somewhere around here, maybe underneath this big sheet of metal, but I can't take it outside without risking bringing even more of the house down. I should be able to lift it enough though... if the kid's under there, do you think you can pull her out if she's not able to move by herself?" he asked, hoping that Iris wouldn't refuse- although that seemed unlikely considering the kind-hearted reploid's nature.

| ((It's okay!))
Iris was surprised at the sound of a child's voice, and became worried. She hoped the little one wasn't too hurt...
Iris just watched Fefnir, wincing as well at the sound the large piece of metal made. She made an affirmative nod at Fefnir's plea. The woman walked over, and the child was indeed under there. The poor thing looked as if she was in pain. The little girl seemed relieved at Iris' kind face and gave a weak smile. Iris smiled back. "Can you get up?" The reploid asked. The girl shook her head, giving a negative response. Iris reached out and carefully picked the child up, then moved away from the spot where the child was previously.

| The large sheet of metal groaned again as Fefnir lifted it high enough for Iris to reach underneath, scooping the injured child up into her arms before stepping back away from the suspended panel. The metallic panel then made a loud creak as Fefnir tried to lower it back down to the floor gently, but it suddenly resounded with a tremendous crack, the damage obtained from his earlier fight against the mechaniloid having weakened the metal's strength and causing it to shatter underneath its own weight. The foundations of the ruined building trembled from the heavy drop, but thankfully it didn't bring anything down on top of their heads.
Manuevering carefully, the red-armored reploid stepped over the scattered debris to join Iris, and to see if the little one she'd rescued was alright.
"Are either of you hurt?" he asked with concern, as he'd heard Iris ask if the little girl had been able to move. She hadn't.

| Iris nodded. "I'm alright; It's the little one I'm worried about."
The little girl coughed. "I feel sore all over, my throat hurts, and I think I broke my ankle." She explained, pointing to her right ankle. Iris nodded, but she suddenly heard a creaking. "I think we should get out of here..." The reploid suggested, cautiously walking out while carrying the little girl.

| "Good idea," Fefnir agreed, nodding at Iris' words. He too heard the ominous creaking of the house's foundations, and didn't want to spend any longer than necessary inside such a place. The child was safe now, if perhaps not in the best of health after such a harrowing incident, and getting her medical treatment was now their utmost priority. Stepping over the crumbling debris, the Jin'en Commander followed after Iris carefully as she carried the little girl in her arms, ready to protect them both if anything came falling down, or worse, something else showed up to spoil their day.

| Once they got outside the building safely, Iris exhaled in relief. She wouldn't want the little one hurt even more, after all. "Where's the nearest place where we can get this little one medical attention?"

| Upon noticing Iris's relief to be out of that building, Fefnir also felt more at ease after following her out of the decimated abode. Not a moment too soon, as what remained of the roof finally crumbled down, causing large chunks of debris to tumble down into the room they'd just left. Immediately he covered both Iris and the little girl in her arms, though only choking dust rose up into the atmosphere. He stepped away carefully, making sure that both girls didn't get a faceful of the dust that had just been thrown up.
"Ugh, that was way too close..." he whispered quietly. He didn't like to think what might have happened had they been too slow to get the girl out of there. Feeling that danger had passed for now, Fefnir glanced at the child in Iris' arms again as the female reploid asked where they might get her some medical attention. Her right ankle already looked rather swollen, and was almost certainly broken like she'd said.
"Ouch, that needs looking at for sure. I guess the closest place to get some medical treatment would be Neo Arcadia East's hospital, they treat both humans and reploids there and I'm sure they have a unit to treat children too. Say kid, what's your name? You were pretty brave back there, you know!" he said with a grin, trying to distract her from the pain she surely felt.

| Iris shielded the child just as Fefnir covered both girls. Iris blinked and rubbed her eyes of the dust, and the child coughed, her throat a little more sore than before.
The human perked up at Fefnir's praise, and her eyes widened. She, an ordinary little kid, was getting a compliment from one of the Guardians?! No way! The little girl immediately brightened. "My name is Ami!" She said cheerily.
Iris giggled at Ami's enthusiasm.

| "Ami, huh? That's a nice name," Fefnir smiled upon hearing her cheerful reply, grinning even more as he heard Iris giggle at her enthusiasm. He meant what he said in that Ami had been brave. Not many people, older humans included, would have kept their cool as well as she did, being trapped inside a crumbling house underneath a heavy board of metal. Some people were apparantly phobic of being trapped in small places like that, but she didn't panic - not even after getting hurt. He ruffled her hair good-naturedly after taking another glance at her swollen ankle, looking at Iris meaningfully.
"Well, we shouldn't dawdle here any longer. Neo Arcadia East's just a few blocks away, hopefully it's not too busy after that mechaniloid rampaged here..." he said, glancing around at the street before taking the first direction there. Ami's house was one of the few that had actually been damaged, though her's had been hit the hardest. Fefnir felt a pang of regret for what had happened. If he'd been faster, then Ami might not have gotten hurt at all...

| "Thanks!" Ami chirped at Fefnir's compliment on her name. What until Auntie heard about this! However, Ami seemed to notice Fefnir's expression as he looked at the damaged building. "Don't be upset, Mister Fefnir. It was just a house."
Iris had nodded at Fefnir's suggestion. "We should most definitely get Ami some medical attention. Would you mind leading the way?"

| "You're right, both of you. The important thing is that no lives were lost. Now that you're out of there safe and sound, we'd best get you medical attention like Miss Iris says. It's not too far away, just a short walk from here..." Fefnir said, looking a little brighter at Ami's words as he led them both through Neo Arcadia's East District. It was busy, but the majority of civilian humans and reploids kept clear of the red reploid's path as he travelled through the crowds, making sure that Iris and Ami weren't crowded and jostled by their numbers.
"Excuse us please, injured child coming through!" he called out as ahead, the gigantic hospital complex could be seen towering in the distance. Easily the largest building in the immediate area, the medical center was created to treat both humans and reploids alike and was responsible for the healthcare of the entire eastern district.
Already a team of medics were preparing for new arrivals, having heard the news of the rampaging mechaniloid.

| Iris followed Fefnir to the hospital and gave Ami to the medics, telling them to take good care of the girl, or they would get a good, long lecture from the reploid woman.
Ami giggled at Iris' protectiveness; Just like Auntie. Ami decided that she liked Miss Iris. As she was taken away by the medics, Ami smiled and waved goodbye, certain that she would see the nice lady again.
Iris waved back, already missing the little girl.
