| "I can try to get more details on it." Axl offered, opening the message again. He requested more information and got another message.
Forceful rewrites made by the virus were quarantined and scanned. Anything useful to Axl's safety and betterment were assimilated into systems. Anything harmful or dangerous was destoryed.

| The copy reploid tilted his head at that. So the animal forms were new then? He queried his systems to see if it was okay to begin defraging his copy chips. When no negatives popped up, he set it to defrag.

| X's statement brought an insulted blush to the younger's face and it triggered something in his systems. Extending his right hand, he summoned one of his Axl Bullets and, without looking away from the cyber elf, he pointed it at a small empty container across the room. A quick squeeze of the trigger and the object was sent flying through the air with a hole in it. A few more shots bounced the item around the room, but Axl never turned his eyes from X's. Extending his left hand, the container landed in it, with a smiley face shot into it.
"Hibernation can never stop my awesome marksmanship." he grinned cheekily, his cocky nature showing through.

| X couldn't help but laugh at Axl again. He was always such a goofball. But then, that was actually a very good thing. When they were at HQ, Axl's antics were usually more than enough to break tension and get even Zero to laugh.
The two went up one floor to the main level. X led him outside. The sky was crystal clear and bright. "This should be plenty of room," he said. "Do you mind if I watch?"

"Ow, ow, ow, ow!" he cried in a mantra, arms instinctively going for his pack where something was pinching next to his right stabilizer blade, preventing the blade from fully extending. "X! A little help please?"

| X walked over to Axl and examined his stabilizer blades, noting a sharp piece of metal stuck in the pack itself that was lodged in the wing and prevented it from extending. It would be a little tricky to remove without causing serious pain and discomfort.
"Axl, there's a piece of metal stuck in your stabilizer," he explained. "I'll try to remove it but bear with me." With that, he wiggled the metal shard a bit, trying to dislodge it.

| Axl shifted his shoulders a bit, commanding his blades to retract and extend, repeating it several times to make sure nothing was wrong. Fully extending them again, he sighed in relief when no errors or warning messages popped up.
"Everything seems okay. The metal piece was lodge in between a couple of servos that allowed the blade to extend. When I tried to retract it after the initial pinch, it jammed and hurt like a bi-...it really hurt." he said, correcting himself, somehow knowing that X didn't like vulgar language.
"Think I should still try initiating Flight mode?"

| X gave an affirmative nod when Axl corrected himself. The only one he didn't care about profanity with was Zero, though there were a few times that he let Axl get away with it--namely when he was extremely enthusiastic after a difficult mission.

| At the go-ahead, the blades spread a bit from their fully extended position and locked into place. Jumping into the air, he ignited his boosters and carefully hovered, trying to get his bearings. He stumbled a few times as his boosters cut out a few times, but he stayed airborn. Placing himself horizontal with the ground, he flew up several feet and did a few circles around X to get a feel for flying before going higher.
"How does it look on your end?" he hollered down at his companion.

It was surprising seeing the boy actually capable of sustained flight. Originally all he could do was hover for short periods, but now he could fly naturally.
((Kinda reminds me of the trailer for Rockman Online, when he was fighting Ferham in midair.))

| Axl grinned and did a few loops before heading back down. Flying felt nice. He felt...free, for lack of better word. He looked at his blue-robed friend and headed towards him. It was then he realized something vitally important.
He didn't know how to land.
"Crap, crap, crap." the redhead hissed out as he slowed down as best as he could before completely cutting off his boosters when he was a few feet off the ground. Letting himself fall, he retracted his blades and braced his legs, using his dash boots to slow his fall more. Once his feet hit the ground, he tumbled and rolled head over heels until he finally stopped a few feet from X. He plopped on his butt and leaned back on his arms, sighing in relief. "I need to work on my landing."

Axl felt his blades completely retract and gears shifting about in his stabilizer pack. It felt really weird. Looking over his shoulder, he noticed the screws turning, as if unlocking something.
Suddenly he felt something lurch in his pack, sending a completely uncomfortable feeling down his back that made him fall to his knees. "Ffffffffuuu-" he chewed on his lip viciously to prevent the curse word from leaving his lips as his pack felt like it was warping.
I always want to protect those precious to me. Their lives are worth so much more than my own.

| X stepped back in surprise as a set of very large, robotic angel wings emerged from the stabilizer pack on Axl's back. When his systems said "Winged Form" they weren't kidding. He lightly traced one wing with his fingertip, wondering if Axl knew what they were.
"Axl, take a look," he said. "They're amazing."
I wish I could avoid violence...but if I did, this world wouldn't be able to live in peace. So I will fight for this world, to protect humans and Reploids alike.

| Said reploid pushed himself up so he was resting on his knees, but had to brace his arms behind him as the weight of his new appendages pulled him back. Glancing over his shoulder, he blinked in shock at the white wings on his back. They were beautifully crafted, each about as long as he was tall, and looked to be designed to carry to user quickly and effectively. He briefly wondered if he'd be able to carry anyone, but pushed it aside as he tried to stand, wings weighing him down a bit and causing him to stumble.

| X placed his hands against Axl's shoulders, still standing behind him, to try keeping him upright. "Easy does it," he said, noting that the wings were a very awkward counterbalance. "One step at a time."
He was outright amazed at the wings Axl had now. He imagined that they would be similar to Harpuia's "wings", more like jets, not like these. They even had metal feathers that seemed like they would fall out during his flight. And the wings were GIGANTIC. X guessed that, fully outstretched, Axl could wrap them around himself as a shield.
I wish I could avoid violence...but if I did, this world wouldn't be able to live in peace. So I will fight for this world, to protect humans and Reploids alike.

| "This feels really...odd." Axl stated, reorienting himself to deal with the heavy back weight. He was grateful for X's hold on him, or he would have plopped on his butt again. He wiggled his wings a bit, getting a feel for them. Their size was the biggest problem, but he'd get use to it with more time and practice with them.
Testing their reach, he spread them out fully, then slowly moved them as far as he could backwards. The black reploid was surprised when the angelic limbs nearly cocooned X in their embrace. "This is..." He didn't know how to describe how he was feeling about all this at the moment. It was a bit overwhelming to say the least.

| X was rather surprised that Axl's wings were large enough to envelop the cyber-elf when unfurled and backwards. They really were huge.
"Why don't you try flying?" he suggested, hoping maybe flying a little would help Axl get used to his new wings.

| The boy nodded as he leaned forward again, bringing his wings forward as well. "This is going to some getting use to." he muttered, flapping his wings a bit. He stepped away from X, more like stumbled, before he stayed still, trying to figure out just how to accomplish that.
"Um..." he peeked back at X, his wings curling around him, exposing his nervousness. "I...How do I start?"

| X had to cover his mouth with one hand to hold back a giggle at how confused Axl seemed. He wasn't a bird, so how would he know how to fly with wings? X had to take a guess.
"Ah...let's see...try opening your wings so they point upward, and bring them down as fast as you can, and keep doing that until you're in the air, I guess."

| Axl shifted and bite his lip, still nervous about flying without his pack present. It had essentially broken apart to create his wings. But he trusted X, had no reason not to., so he did as suggested and uncurled his wings, spreading them out and up towards the sky. He flapped once to get the feel of it before he did it again a little harder. His wing beats increased in power as he continued.
The young reploid felt something shift in his wings and on the next downbeat, he was shocked when he skyrocketed upwards.

| X simply tilted his head back to look up at the redhead, who was now a good forty feet or so in the air. "...Yeah, like that!" he called, not knowing what else he should do. He was at least standing "near" Axl in case the boy fell, so he could catch him.

| "Woah, this is...so awkward!" the auburn-head cried as he struggled to balance himself in the air with his new appendages. Wings flapped once, twice, before he finally managed to stay upright without any problems.
Sighing in relief, Axl flew gently in a loose circle, stumbling a few times, but he stayed close to X for safety reasons. Flying like this was so odd. He was use to his stabilizer blades, not these feathery wings that had become an extra extension to his senses. Gliding down until he was 10 feet above the ground, he hollered down to the cyber elf. "Am I doing okay?!"
