| Zero didn't stumble back into the apartment until sometime after ten at night. He looked like he would pass out from exhaustion at any moment. His eyes were dull, almost completely devoid of the life they usually had. He ended up leaning back against the door when it shut behind him and rubbed one of his eyes with the heel of his hand.

| X woke back up shortly before Zero returned and had started to clean up their shared room. It was a bit disorganized from working on their upgrades. When he heard the door open he walked out to greet his friend, gasping in shock when he saw how exhausted he was. "What happened?!" he asked, rushing over to him.

He'd glanced over his shoulder a moment after he'd snapped at whoever was disturbing him, and immediately his expression changed from anger to one that looked apologetic and extremely exhausted. He heaved a sigh and straightened up. "I'm sorry, X. I didn't mean to snap at you."

| X cringed and recoiled, hiding behind the wall where the door was when Zero snapped. "I-I'm sorry!" he frantically apologized before running off back to his old office, not bothering to put his armor back on. Nobody was even in the hallway. He ran into his office and hid in a small storage closet. A horrible image of a rather demented looking Zero with crimson eyes flashed through his mind when Zero had snapped.
He was terrified.

| Zero stumbled over to the closet and opened it finding X inside curled up on the ground. It sapped the rest of his strength but he managed to pick X up and carry the brunette back to his room before laying him on the couch. The security had sealed off that floor, so he didn't have to worry about anyone seeing X. He walked into the recharge room and scribbled down a note, putting it on the controls of the pod before getting in and recharging.
The note basically told X to wake him up when he wasn't scared of him anymore, and that he was sorry for snapping at him. The password was written down at the bottom.

| X remained sound asleep, not moving save for the slow rise and fall of his chest, for several hours. When he eventually woke back up he realized he was back in Zero's room and practically froze. He moved to run for the door, but stopped when he heard the hum of a recharge pod and noticed that Zero was back. He cautiously peeked into the room and noticed the note. Even though Zero's handwriting was crap, he understood what it said.
The pod was already set for Zero to wake up in the morning. Instead of just waking Zero up, the brunette pulled a chair over to the pod and waited.

Seeing that they were okay he picked the brunette back up and carried him back into the living room to lay on the couch. He still felt a bit tired, but he'd just take a nap later.
