| Zero looked up at X and ended up chuckling. "Probably because I treat them how they act. Lazy, whiny, incompetent employees. Some are okay, like you, but most I just really can't deal with sometimes. Like the navigators." He stated before crossing his arms over his chest and shaking his head. "Basically, if you deserve my respect, I give it to you, if not, I don't. They just think I'm insane because I don't respect them." He explained as best he could. He respected Commander Sigma because he was forced to. He did have a bit of respect for the higher ranking reploid, but not as much as he did for X.
X was obviously going to be a hard worker if pushed enough. He already had the skills and after a little refinement Zero knew that X could surpass most Hunters here. He already surpassed his 'equals' in a day, there was no telling what he could do given enough time.

| X couldn't help himself. He actually laughed a little. He'd seen how some of the B-Rank Hunters acted when Zero wasn't around, and that was explanation enough for why Zero acted the way he did. Someone had to get them into shape and Zero was the only one capable. Aside from Commander Sigma, of course. The superior Reploid was the only one other than Zero who had any form of authority over the other Hunters, and he was probably the only one who could keep the unruly Vile under control.
X started to wonder about his day off. He had never really had a day to just relax, as he was either busy with work or helping Dr. Cain. And come to think of it, he'd never spent the day hanging out with anyone. This would be something rather new for X.

| Zero ended up grimacing when he thought about how the other Hunters acted towards each other. Basically if you weren't A-Class or higher you were disposable. He could understand that to an extent, but treating the lower Hunters like trash was ridiculous. Especially when they were damaged. The way the base ran was if you weren't important, you were disposable. He didn't see how the higher ups couldn't see how the way things were structured was wrong. It would work a little better if everyone was a little closer. Or at least pulled their own weight.
Zero uncrossed his arms and idly wondered what it would be like actually taking a day off. He'd never taken a day off since he became a Hunter. He'd also never really hung out with anyone either. Friendship was a somewhat strange concept to him, mostly because he tried to stay as distanced as possible from everyone else.
I'm not arrogant, but I don't make mistakes. I just cut down my enemies.

| X noticed Zero's expression change but decided not to question it. Most likely he was thinking about how anyone B-Class or lower was practically nonexistent to the higher-ups unless Commander Sigma noticed something worthy about them. That immediately made X wonder if he was a special case; even though Commander Sigma had taken an interest in X, nobody ever really noticed him except Zero and the few Hunters who would dump their extra work off on him.
A glance out the office window--a view X found to be quite unusual since he really didn't have a window in his old office--told X that it was rather late. The sun was setting into the Abel City skyline, turning the sky a vibrant orange. X stood and walked over to the window, resting his elbows on the windowsill and watching the sunset. It was a rather beautiful sight.

| Zero watched X for a moment before speaking. "I'll find you tomorrow before I leave. You should rest up for now though." He said before walking to the door to leave. He paused at the door and looked back at X. "Do you want me to set up a recharge pod in here? We can have it in a separate part of the room if you'd like." He said remembering that the blue reploid didn't have his own recharge pod in his office. Zero did, but it was well hidden. It wouldn't take him long to set one up if X decided he did want one. Getting the large piece of machinery into the room would be the most time consuming thing. That and making a hidden room for it.

| X's head perked up a little when Zero spoke; he'd zoned out for a moment while watching the sunset. "Huh? Oh...um...sure," he replied when Zero asked about setting up a recharge pod. "Thanks." He started to follow Zero so he could help Zero with getting everything into the room and setting everything up. The blue Reploid had actually forgotten than B-Class Hunters, once they get their own office, can have a recharge pod set up in their office for their own personal use. He knew exactly where he wanted it too; there were several windows along the back wall of the office that let the sunlight through; X wanted to set up the pod near one of them so he could watch the sky while he rested.

| Zero walked to one of the storage rooms on the same floor and began gathering parts. He divided the load between them and handed X a couple of boxes before picking up the remaining ones and walking back to the blue reploids office. He set the boxes on the work bench before looking around the room. There were only certain places where the pod could be set up, unless the room was specifically designed to be a recharge room. "You can set it up either in that corner, along that wall, or the center of the room where your desk is." He stated pointing at each place. Only one was near the window, and surprisingly in a perfect spot to allow X to watch the sky while he rested.

| X carefully set the boxes down next to the ones Zero had been carrying and looked around at the spots Zero indicated. He knew exactly where he'd set the pod up. "Thanks," he said before starting to unbox everything and set everything up. It surprisingly didn't take too long, although there were a few small snags that X found, namely that certain parts seemed to be missing at first, but were actually in the wrong boxes. It took roughly half an hour.

| "Do you want a wall put up to separate the pod and the rest of your office?" Zero asked. He preferred to have an extra wall separating his recharge pod that way rookies couldn't mess with him while he was resting. Maybe he was just a little paranoid about that, but he enjoyed the extra amount of privacy. Regardless of how limited it was.

| "No thanks," replied X. He doubted he'd need any privacy; he highly doubted anyone but Zero would ever come into his office in the first place.
As soon as the brunette finished, an alarm blared. X hit his head against the side of the recharge pod; a Maverick couldn't attack at the worst possible time, and most likely Zero and X were the only ones able to go out after it. Again.

| Zero sighed and looked over at X. "You can stay here if you'd like." He stated noticing X slam his head against the side of the pod. The blue reploid wouldn't get in trouble. He'd practically died, so he was allowed to rest if he wished. Zero figured he could take on whatever was attacking anyway.

| X sighed. "No, I'd better go too," he replied, standing up and stretching a bit. X needed more field training, so what better way than to actually dispatch another Maverick with Zero? He'd learned from his mistakes; this time he was ready.

| Zero nodded. "Alright." He ran down to the command room to get an update on what they were supposed to take down. One of the navigators pulled up their mission information on one of the larger screens. A picture was provided alongside the information. It also showed the scale of the Maverick compared to an average height Hunter.
Maverick information: Eregion Weapons: Energy blasts, claws, size
Currently outside city limits. Mechaniloids attempting to hold it off. Hunters are ordered to report immediately. This Maverick cannot reach the city.
Casualty Projection: Thousands to Hundred Thousands if not stopped. Current Casualties: 3
Current Coordinates: 473204 Available Hunters report immediately.
Zero glanced over at X. "Ready?" He asked before telling the navigators to transfer them to the battle area. It was more than necessary that they stopped the large dragon type mechaniloid before it got any further.

| ((*looks up Eregion's page* O.O *quickly closes page*))
X followed Zero to the command room and waited for the navigators to pull up a display with the information on this new Maverick. The second he saw the image of it, then the 3D scale model of it--with a Reploid roughly Zero's size for comparison--X's jaw almost dropped. They had to fight THAT?
What was worse, this thing had already caused three casualties. Three lives that cannot be taken back. And the projection ALONE made X's "stomach" flip.
The blue Reploid nodded when Zero asked if he was ready and immediately changed his arm into Buster mode. He wanted to be ready, though he didn't know exactly what to expect from this fight. No doubt neither one of them would get out unscathed.

| (( XD too bad it's like super easy in the game. ))
"Alright, send us in." Zero ordered. The navigators did as commanded and transferred them as close as possible to the oversized mechaniloid without putting them right in front of it. He changed his arm into a buster and immediately spotted the Eregion. It was roughly sixty yards away from their current position. Thankfully it was busy dealing with the other mechaniloids to pay much mind to their arrival.
Zero grimaced after calculating a plan of attack. Unfortunately it seemed to just be charge the beast. "It doesn't seem to have a weak point, but it's overall armor is less than the Crabs-Y we fought." He informed X. "We'll just have to attack it straight on." He stated while looking over at X. The blue reploid seemed extremely nervous. He'd have to get over that quickly if they were going to finish the fight quickly with as little damage as possible. "Don't hesitate." He ordered before charging up his buster and turning his attention back to the dragon and charging. They had no other choice when it came to attacking the thing.

| ((...It IS?))
X didn't have to look far to find the Eregion. The thing was absolutely gigantic compared to everything he'd been fighting today. He didn't know if this was an S-Class enemy or what, but it was huge and it was PISSED. X doubted they'd be able to take it out quickly.
X maintained a safer distance from the Eregion when Zero charged, taking a moment to examine the hulking dragon. While Zero was right in that it seemed to have no real weak points, X was able to pinpoint a few areas that, if damaged, might make the Eregion easier to deal with--the wings, arms, and head, namely.
X charged a shot and strafed to another side, opposite of Zero, and fired the shot at the Eregion's face. The creature bellowed and directed its attention to X and away from Zero, charging a laser blast in its mouth.

| (( Yeah. It's an X4 miniboss type enemy. It's the very first 'boss' you ever fight in the game. ))
Zero fired off a charged shot at the Eregion's head as well and shot off a few normal shots as well, mostly to get the mechaniloids attention. It worked and the dragon mechaniloid shot of a long string of blasts at the blond. It was really pissed now.
Zero was forced to dash to avoid being hit and ended up rolling out of the way to avoid the last few blasts. They torn medium sized potholes into the road they were on. No doubt they would get injured rather quickly if hit by any one of them. He easily rolled to his feet but before he could do anything the Eregion took to the sky.
Zero swore as the monster mechaniloid dove down at him and attempted to swipe at the blond with his claws. He was lucky to get away, however, he'd still been hit. The Eregion's claws had swiped across Zero's arm, cutting through the metal easily. Thankfully it wasn't his buster and he fired another charged shot at the enemy, landing an attack on the mechaniloids elbow joint. He needed to aim better if they were both getting out of this encounter.

| X remained in his spot, sniping at the Eregion from a distance to keep its attention off of Zero. He saw sparks and oil flying from the blonde's arm; he'd been hit. X alternated firing partially charged and fully charged shots at the dragon's head and wings, keeping it occupied and focused on finding him.
Another charged shot to the Eregion's face did it. The dragon spotted X and immediately fired several blasts toward X. The blue Reploid, lacking effective dashing capabilities, barely evaded getting smoked by dashing a short distance and rolling out of the way. His hiding spot had been compromised, but now he had to act faster. If Zero was injured, no doubt the Eregion could get a good hit on--and possibly even kill--X. He charged another shot, strafing around the dragon and firing.

| Zero ignored his damaged arm as best he could and fired off another charged shot at the Eregion's head. He found it best to always attack where the processor was if the enemy didn't have a clear weak spot. He was hoping the fight would be over soon after the mechaniloid's head started to smoke. Then again things were never that easy for him.
The Eregion roared and took to the air again. It fired more energy blasts at Zero while diving down in an attempt to slash at X. Unfortunately, it seemed to be a little smarter than the other Mavericks Zero had faced off against. It knew how to distract one enemy and go after another. Getting hit in his arm again he grunted in pain before shooting rapid shots to try and disable the mechaniloids wings. He was hoping he'd be the only one to get too damaged.

| X dashed backwards as much as his stock boosters would allow, trying to evade the Eregion's claws. He was mostly successful; the very tip of one claw dug into his back, tearing open a shallow but very long wound.
However, the Eregion was now in good range. X remembered seeing something Zero had done in a training simulation, and figured it might work with this Maverick as well. X skidded to a halt and waited for the Eregion to bring its arm back to swipe at him again, then jumped up, dodging the attack and landing on the Eregion's arm. He ran up it as quickly as he could before the dragon could move to throw him off, charging a shot in the process, and perching on the dragon's back, between its wings. If he could just get a clear shot at point blank range at the Eregion's head, that might finish it off.
It obviously wasn't that easy though. The Eregion began to thrash wildly, trying to throw X off.

| Zero took advantage of the distraction X had become to get a close range charged shot at the Eregion's head. He dashed over to a nearby building and kicked up the wall until he was just a little higher than the mechaniloids head before dash kicking off the side of the building. He shot the dragon mechaniloid at nearly point blank range, but it still didn't go down. It was smoking a lot more now, but still functioning.
Unfortunately, Zero didn't have time to save himself from the large drop, and landed hard on his feet. He damaged his ankle and knee joints rather badly, causing them to spark and forcing him onto one knee. He gritted his teeth and fired off another charged shot, but at the angle he was compared to where the Eregion was above him, it only hit the mechaniloid in the chest.
The dragon mechaniloid roared again and continued to try and throw X off of it. However, it seemed to decide it might as well get rid of one of the Hunters and was obviously charging up another round of energy blasts. It was glaring down at Zero as it did so.

| X was thankful that Zero was able to get a hit in on the Eregion, as it gave him a bit more time to focus and get a clear shot. However, when he saw that the dragon was preparing to attack, X knew he only had a few seconds to attack before Zero was killed.
The blue Reploid planted the muzzle of his Buster against the back of the Eregion's head and fired. The shot entered through the back of the head and came out through the snout. The dragon let out one half-hearted roar and fell to the ground in a limp metal heap. X jumped down off of the Eregion and hurried over to Zero.
"Are you okay?" he asked.

| Zero had to force himself to jump backwards or risk being crushed by the downed Eregion. It definitely wasn't good for his leg, but it was better than getting crushed. "I'll be fine." He said while remaining in a partially crouched position. Although it would be difficult and painful to walk, it wouldn't be completely impossible. He looked up at X. "You alright?" He asked obviously not concerned at all about his own condition.
The damage was nothing he couldn't repair on his own, and as long as the navigators actually transferred them back he should be able to walk back to his office without too many problems. He shook his head at himself. He hadn't been as focused. Normally falling from a height like he had moments before was no trouble, but it seemed he'd been distracted. Or he was getting rusty.

| "My back hurts a bit, but I'm okay," replied X. The blue Reploid held a hand out to the taller Reploid, offering to help him up. The motion of leaning down pulled on the wound in his back and made it ache, but other than that he really didn't have any serious injuries this time. Zero was the one who got injured in this fight.
The damage was fairly extensive for Zero, given the red Reploid's track record. X wanted to help him out with tending to the wounds.

| Zero took X's hand and managed to pull himself up. "Thanks." He said before talking to the navigators. "The Maverick has been eliminated. Transfer us back." He ordered. Not a moment later they were back at the base in the command room. He started to walk to the medical bay, somehow still managing to walk. It was obvious he was having a difficult time, but none of the other Hunters offered to help him. They just got out of the way to let him walk past and stared at him while he did. He was so used to not being helped that he'd forgotten that X probably would've offered to help him. Walking on his damaged leg was making it worse, but in his mind he had no choice.

| X was still slightly disoriented after being transferred back to base, since he was rarely sent out on missions via the transporters. A few moments after he got his bearings, however, he noticed Zero staggering toward the medical bay. X immediately rushed over to him, casting rather accusing looks at the other Hunters--mostly B-Class and C-Class--who didn't even so much as offer to help the blonde, and carefully slung one of Zero's arms over his shoulders and wrapped his arm around his waist, attempting to keep him upright.
"You shouldn't try to walk on your own with all this damage," he said, concerned. "Let me help."

| Zero almost threw off whoever had touched him, but he quickly stopped himself. His intent was obvious because of the sudden jerking motion he did. He had managed to restrain himself after realizing who it was. "I'm used to taking care of myself." He admitted. The other Hunters looked rather surprised that the blond hadn't thrown X away from him. That and the fact that anyone was helping him.
Zero was grateful that X had helped him. His leg was damaged a whole lot and was sparking even more than before from him walking on it. With X supporting him slightly he didn't have to worry about putting too much weight on it. He would've barely made it to the med bay on his own.

| "You shouldn't have to deal with injuries like these," stated X as he led Zero to the medical bay. "Especially by yourself. I'll even help you with these myself if need be."
X knew how it felt to be ignored like this, but it wasn't quite the same. Zero was an A-Class Hunter; he deserved more respect than this. X was a fledgling B-Class, so it was normal he would be ignored. Still, it wasn't right that the Hunters, who considered each other as "allies", would shun those in need.
X ignored the looks the other Hunters were giving him and carefully guided Zero to the medical bay.

| "If everyone would work together I wouldn't have to." Zero partially muttered before sitting on one of the work benches. He didn't want X straining himself as well. "Ill fix the wound on your back and then you can help me with my arm." He stated. He could fix his leg after his other arm was repaired. It would be too difficult to work on his leg with only one working hand. He motioned for X to stand in front of him so he could repair the large gash. Luckily it wasn't too deep so it would be a somewhat easy and quick fix. He grabbed some tools that he would need to repair X's back. It was mostly just severed connections upon first look.

| X nodded and turned around, revealing the gash on his back. Unfortunately from trying to hang onto the Eregion while trying to deal the last hit, the metal that made up his skin tore open more, and the "muscle" was strained. Zero was likely able to see his spinal column.
Overall, he was lucky. If that claw had dug just a bit deeper, he would probably have been paralyzed.

| Zero noticed the gash had gotten worse because he was now able to see X's spine. He started working on connecting everything back together. It took him about fifteen minutes to reconnect everything and he started to work on a piece of armor to match X's missing section. That took longer because he only had one hand, roughly twenty-five minutes, and once it was done he fixed up the hole. It looked as if X had never been damaged. He was rather proud of his handy work.

| X's arm twitched a bit as Zero reconnected everything, the "nerve" signals surging toward their proper destination. After everything had been repaired, X twisted his upper body a bit to test Zero's patchwork. He barely felt anything. "Thanks," he said before sitting next to Zero to work on his arm.
The damage wasn't too severe, thankfully. From the looks of things, it looked like only the armor had been torn open and a few small connections were damaged. Since Zero really didn't use his arm much, it shouldn't have gotten worse.

| Zero directed X in what to do in a few places where the blue reploid had messed up. Although they were similar in design, his inner workings were a little different. However, X had done a rather good job nonetheless. He flexed his hand to test the connections and nodded slightly in approval. It seemed X was good at repairing as well.
He pulled his leg up onto the workbench so that he could take a look at it. The action was rather painful, but the only sign that it was, was a slight wince. It was sparking pretty badly now. It would take a lot of time to get it fully repaired. He heaved a sigh before taking off the armor covering exposing the inner workings of his leg. It was heavily damaged. Circuits were disconnected, entire parts were useless in some places, and fluids were leaking out in his knee and ankle. Basically it was trashed.

| X was a bit proud of himself at being able to repair Zero's arm, even though the blonde Reploid had to direct him a few times. When he saw how damaged Zero's leg was, he cringed. The damage was extensive, and it seemed that it got worse because he had to walk on it without support for a bit.
A medical Reploid walked over to them. "Sir," she began, "I'm afraid your leg is in terrible shape. It may have to be replaced."
X cast a glare over to the Reploid, one he doubted Zero had ever seen. "I'll fix it myself," he stated. He was rather tired of these medics taking the extremist route. His leg didn't need replacing, it just needed repairs. It would take a while, but he would be fine.

| Zero was rather surprised at X's tone and the fact that he'd glared at the medic reploid. He dismissed it for the most part however, and turned his attention to the medic. "I think I would rather attempt to fix it first, thank you. Besides, I don't think you'd have a replacement for a few days if not a week." He said his tone polite, but clipped. He knew that they never had replacement parts for him. Entire body parts anyway. He would be out of commission for a while if he opted for that.
He examined his leg and decided that he couldn't reconnect anything before repairing the damaged parts first. It would be counter productive since he'd just have to disconnect some of them anyway. He started to pull off a few parts on and near his knee to look at them. He was a little surprised he'd managed to walk considering the state they were in. He knew walking made it worse, but not that worse.

| The medic Reploid walked off with a mumble that sounded like "Whatever you say, ***hole..." X shot her another glare at how she was treating Zero, but quickly shifted his attention to Zero's knee. The wear and tear was severe, but it was nothing that couldn't be repaired.
"Would you like some help?" he offered. "I think the end result would be better if both of us worked on the repairs."

| Zero clenched his jaw and somewhat blankly stared at the parts in his hands. It was obvious he was trying to control his temper. The only reason he was succeeding was because he couldn't walk. Did they really wonder why Zero treated them the way he did? This was why he was always on missions. He ran missions back to back to back only stopping when he was badly damaged like he was now and when he really needed a recharge. He wanted to avoid everyone here as best he could. They didn't exactly respect him, they were just too afraid not to pretend to show that they did.
When X spoke up and looked up at the blue reploid. It took him a moment to actually register what he said. "Uh, sure. I guess you could work on fixing the ankle joint." He said before turning his attention back to the parts in his hands. He set them off to the side and started to examine the innermost part of his knee. Although the joint itself was damaged, it wasn't as bad as the rest of the parts surrounding it. He silently began repairing the joint itself after grabbing some tools. He looked mentally exhausted.

| X quietly gathered up some tools and started working on Zero's ankle. Comparing the two joints revealed that the ankle joint was actually a bit worse off, as it had taken the brunt of the impact when Zero landed. X wound up having to shift Zero's foot at an angle it shouldn't possibly sit at, just to be able to access the damage. A few parts needed to be replaced, but it was a simple matter.
While X worked, he couldn't help but wonder why the Hunters lacked any form of respect for Zero. Next to Commander Sigma, he was the highest-ranking Hunter at HQ, so he should have deserved at least SOME respect. The only ones that seemed to show any form of respect were Commander Sigma himself and X. Of course, X tried to respect all Hunters, but Zero was more deserving of it.

| Zero paused in his work to allow X to shift his foot and finished repairing his knee joint. He started working on fixing up the parts he'd pulled off. Those parts would be the most time consuming to fix. He remained silent as he worked, and sometimes it looked like he was just tinkering with the parts instead of actually fixing them. He seemed more lost in thought than focused on repairs. It was a total difference compared to all the times the blond had repaired X. He was working a little slower now since he seemed to not be as focused anymore.
Zero had a feeling the reason none of the other Hunters respected him was because he didn't put up with things. That, and he wasn't as good at just talking to anyone like Sigma was. Somehow the commander was able to just talk to someone and get them on his side. He also put up with a little more than Zero did. Apparently it was enough to get everyone to hate the blond. Sometimes he got worn down by getting treated like scrap from the few that would dare to speak to him that way, kind of like he was now.

| X finished repairing Zero's ankle quickly, making sure his foot was lined up properly before replacing the piece of his armor that he had to remove. It was a lot easier to repair a joint than repair Zero's arm. All the connections were in place, so signals would have no trouble traveling to the joint.
Eventually the blue Reploid looked up at Zero, noting the distant look in his eyes while he tinkered with the parts from his knee joint. "...You okay?" he asked, concerned.

| Zero didn't look up at X, but he did start to work a little better after being snapped back to reality. "I'm fine." He stated not sounding very convincing. He finished up two of the parts and put them back in place before working on the remaining three. It took him about ten minutes to finish the remaining parts and to set them back where they went. He worked quite a bit faster since he just wanted to go back to his office and rest. He hadn't wanted to rest for a while, but now seemed as good a time as any. He reconnected everything before covering it up with his leg armor. He stretched out his leg to test it before deciding that everything was okay.

| X wasn't exactly convinced that Zero was fine, but he wouldn't argue with him. Instead, he decided to stay near Zero to help him walk in case his leg had trouble supporting him. He could tell that the blonde just wanted to rest for a while. Maybe their day off tomorrow would help him clear his mind a bit.

| Zero pushed himself off the workbench and made sure that the repairs were good before speaking. "I'll see you tomorrow X." He said before walking back to his office. He didn't even so much as look at the blue reploid. Something was definitely wrong, it was like he'd turned a complete 180 in personality within the last hour. It was rather strange.

| X stood there for a moment, watching Zero. He could tell something was wrong with Zero, but it was probably better if he didn't pester him about it. After all, it wasn't his place to question. Instead, X simply walked out to his own office and got in his recharge pod, looking up at the night sky for a few moments before putting himself in sleep mode.

| Zero went into his office and into the separate room where his recharge pod was. He set it up and attempted to rest. He had to force himself into sleep mode, otherwise he wouldn't have gone at all.
It was maybe five hours later that Zero had jerked awake and glanced around the room. He forced the pod open and stumbled out of it. He was breathing hard. His systems were overheating for some reason. He went back into the office area and sat at the desk before pulling off his chest and shoulder armor. It would help him cool his systems, but not by much. He rested his elbows on the desk and put his face in his hands. He couldn't remember what had woken him up in such a state. He never remembered what woke him up like this. It was just something that happened from time to time.

| X wasn't sure what compelled him to wake up and wander around HQ, but about four hours or so after he went into sleep mode he wound up waking up, already fully recharged. He needed to tinker around with the settings for the recharge pod, but he would do that later. For now he would just walk around.
As he walked past Zero's office, he noticed that the door was cracked open, and Zero was sitting at his desk with his chest and shoulder armor removed, revealing the somewhat humanoid body under the armor. He couldn't stop himself from peeking in, though he knew he would be reprimanded.
"A...are you okay?" he asked, concerned.

| Zero jumped slightly and looked up at X before rubbing his face. "...I guess." He wasn't really sure himself. His core systems were starting to cool down again, however they were still overheating slightly. He was convinced that X could hear the fans going off internally to try and cool him down. They were part of the reason he was overheating, but he didn't bother shutting them off.
He looked completely stressed out. He'd only charged to about 62% and still needed to keep recharging, but he definitely wasn't going back to sleep anytime soon. After a moment he looked back up at X a little confused. "Why are you up?" He questioned. He didn't think that the blue reploid would be the type to just aimlessly do nothing when he should be recharging.

| It wasn't until after Zero spoke up that X heard the low buzz of the blonde's internal cooling system going haywire; was he overheating? Not much X really knew how to do about that.
It took a second for X to realize Zero had asked him a question. "I'm already fully charged," he replied sheepishly. "I forgot to change the settings on my recharge pod to a slower recharge time. It made me so restless that I couldn't stay in one place." After a moment, he asked, "Can I come in?"

| Zero nodded and motioned for X to come in. His office was a few degrees hotter than the outside hallway due to his systems pulling air from the room to try and cool him down. His fans were starting to calm down though so the room should return to normal temperature soon. He ended up pulling off the armor on his arms as well, not liking the weight they put on him at the moment. He sat up straight and debated about whether or not to keep his helmet on, but after a moment he decided he might as well just leave it where it was.
He pulled out an energy canister and hooked it up to himself. He made it so it would be a somewhat slow recharge, that way it wouldn't make his systems go haywire. It did that sometimes, but thankfully not all that often.

| X walked into the office and sat in a nearby chair, noting how hot the room was compared to the hallway. He's totally overheated, the blue Reploid thought when he sat down. He noticed that Zero was slowly removing almost all of his armor, probably to reduce the strain on his body.
"What happened?" he asked. "Is there a malfunction in your systems?"
