X's eyes narrowed slightly at the virus, but he gave a small nod. While he still felt a bit dizzy and nauseous, it seemed the worst was over. He looked up at Axl to try telling him that he would be okay, but that mask blocked him from speaking. And he wasn't stupid enough to remove it.

That tone solidified his assumption. This wasn't Zero, but something else in his friend's body. No memories popped up from him, so he probably didn't know about whoever or whatever this person was. At X's movement, he peaked up from pressing his face into the cyber elf's shoulder, showing the confusion and fear he felt at the situation with both X and the one with Zero.

"Good!" The virus chirped in a slightly forced happy tone. He pushed both X and Axl back so that they weren't as deep in the water. Even though X was doing better he'd still have to stay underwater for a little while. They'd have to slowly get back towards the surface in increments. X didn't need to get decompression sickness again.

X was visibly confused at the tone in the virus' voice. That did NOT sound like him and sounded just plain wrong. Either way, though, X was a bit grateful that the virus was helping him.

The confusion the redhead felt grew as he blinked at 'Zero'. Okay, the personality changed again, but at least it was more friendly. He shifted his grip on X so he didn't lose his grip is the blonde pushed them again. "Papa? You're not feeling sick anymore, are you?"

The virus would've laughed at their confused expressions, but he was more focused on making sure the oxygen tank was still good. It was only half empty. By the time it got close to being empty it would probably be safe to take X out of the water. The main reason he'd spoken like an overly cheery person was to get Axl to calm down slightly. He doubted it worked too much, but it probably worked enough.

X shook his head at Axl's question. He was actually feeling a bit better, just still a little nauseous. And he was becoming lightheaded again. Was the oxygen tank running empty? If it was they were in trouble; he doubted it was okay to get out of the water yet.

Axl shifted a bit as he smiled lightly, happy X was feeling better. The tension from his fear of whoever was possessing was still there, but it was significantly less than before. "Until he stops feeling nauseous." Virus Zero stated simply. He switched out the oxygen tanks noticing the second one was starting to get low as well. That was their last one. If X wasn't better by the time that one ran out then they would have no choice but to take him back to the beach. But he should be well enough to survive by then.

Virus Zero nodded. "Yeah." They would have to go back to the beach soon. The oxygen tank was starting to run out again. He pushed the two of them a little closer to the shore, but made sure they were still both underwater. If Axl reached up he would be able to stick his hand out of the water. Even though it didn't seem like they should just sit right below the surface, it was a precaution to make sure X didn't need to stay underwater for a longer amount of time. If there were any problems they would more than likely show up now.

He paused as his systems gave him more data. "Sealed away to prevent system corruption. You've been asleep for almost as long as I have." He commented, however he grinned when he learned of the shard. He wanted to examine it. "This shard that caused you to seal yourself away, where is it?" He asked wondering if Axl would be naive enough to actually tell him. X would probably try to stop him if he was.

Axl let out a squeak at the grip, body quaking at the touch as his defenses were shrieking at him to get out of there. The shard? Why did he want to know where it was? The redhead knew where it was since he hide it, but he wasn't going to tell him where it was.

X was feeling better, that much was obvious with his voice. Now if only his voice was that strong.

"Y-you obviously have access to Zero's m-memories." he stated, voice shaking. "If that's right, than y-you're blind. X gave Zero a complete tour of the place. If you didn't see it, tough luck b-buddy." His fight or flight instincts were cramping into his head in preparation for conflict, but he pushed them down. X was still in his grip.

These were the thoughts running through his head as Axl sat there in fear. He was having trouble breathing and his defenses were SHRIEKING at him.

Finally, he couldn't take it anymore as he started to panic and his escape procedures kicked into full gear. Wrapping his arms firmly around X's waist, his stabilizer pack exploded into his large white angel wings and, with a powerful, gust-inducing beat of the new limbs, he kicked up a cloud of sand and took off over the water's surface.

Not even able to respond properly at this point, Axl's systems registered X's voice, making the connection between him and their host as something similar to master/subordinate. In his current state of mind, it wasn't far from the truth since the copy reploid would listen to anything X said.

Folding his wings and cocooning the two of them, he dove as instructed. Oddly enough, his wings became semi-transparent so they could kinda see outside.

Temperature warnings blared at him about the rapidly approaching cold. He couldn't outrun it, but he could at least stall it.

Rerouting a quarter of his remaining energy into his wings, he increased the temperature in them, causing the water around them to ripple at the heat.

The virus snorted at Axl's attempt to keep them from being frozen. He ramped up the amount of energy redirected to the vents which caused the water to freeze more rapidly. "You can't stay underwater forever prototype. X has to breathe sometime." He partially growled though it sounded like he was right next to them, or in their heads.

Axl was in a full-blown panic now. His concentration lost, the heat dispersed and the ice latched onto one of his wings. Picking up speed by turning his hover boots up to maximum output and breaking the ice, he continued further out into sea...with ice shards lodged in his right wing.

X could tell rather easily that Axl was in a panic, but there wasn't much he could do at the moment. He exhaled to get some of the pressure off his chest; air bubbles leaked out between his fingers. He'd have to resurface very soon.

Core thrumming and working overtime, Axl almost missed the ice wall. When he did see it, he didn't have time to stop. Instead, he just turned and let his back slam into the sheet of ice, letting out a wordless cry before heading to the surface. His back was more than likely bruised from the impact.
