| Zero grunted slightly in protest to being carried, but he really didn't have a choice. He listened to the two talk even while he was laying in the recharge pod. Though his circuits were close to being overloaded, he didn't feel like resting. He wanted to kill the commander. A rather painful headache made itself known after that thought and Zero rubbed his head and closed his eyes.

| "In other words, thank you for contacting him, X," continued Veil. "If not for you trying to get Zero some time off, Sigma would have imprisoned an innocent man."
He knew about the incident with Sigma and Zero, but knew that it was water under the bridge now. Zero had woken up as he was, a hunter. That incident didn't matter anymore.
X glanced nervously at Zero, obviously worried. Veil put his hand on his shoulder and smiled. "Don't worry. Dr. Cain's given him a week off to rest. He also wanted me to inform you that if you want, you can take the time off too, since your motor functions still seem a little shaky." He was referring to the constant rattling of X's joints.
((Veil isn't going to last too much longer... BTW I wanna design Veil now.))

| After a moment Zero finally passed out from pure exhaustion. He hadn't actually slept in probably three days. He was running on fumes at best and to top it all off now he was damaged quite a bit. He just wasn't doing well at all.

| Veil looked over toward Zero and sighed, though he was smiling a little too. "He's wiped. Let him rest for a little while before trying to repair him, alright?" he instructed.
"Yes sir." X saluted.
Veil grinned and rubbed the top of X's helmet as if ruffling his hair. "I'll talk to you tomorrow to check in. See ya, X! See ya Angel!"
By Angel he was referring to the medic.

| Zero slept an entire day and finally woke up again when the sun was starting to rise on the next day. He grumbled and shielded his eyes from the sun before looking around somewhat confused. He'd completely forgotten about what had happened for a few minutes.

| Angel walked over to the recharge pod with some tools and started with some basic patchwork. X would have to handle the more serious damage, but at least she could alleviate the pain.
Veil entered the med bay and smiled. "Looks like everyone's up," he greeted.

He commented referring to when the S-Class Hunter had been forced through multiple training exercises with one of the units. "I have to admit, you made me suspicious." He stated with a bit of a laugh. Any recruits that weren't a pain to him made him think they were up to something.

| Veil laughed a little. "I didn't want to be a complete jerk to a fellow Hunter," he admitted. "Just not in me. Especially if said Hunter happens to be friends with X." Veil had respect for X if only because he was the father of Reploids, but also because he could see the potential X had, much like Zero could.
Veil walked over and worked on some of the repairs as well. With him, Angel, and X all working together, Zero would be back on his feet in no time. "Dr. Cain's given you and X a week off to rest."

| "I'm going to be rather bored half the time." Zero commented when Veil told him he had a week off. After working so hard for longer than two days he still wanted to continue to work. For some reason whenever he got bogged down with work that's what he got used to, so when he didn't have any he got bored rather quickly.

| Zero got to work trying to figure out what the problem was. He hoped he wouldn't have to actually take X's knee joint apart to see what it was. After a moment of studying it, he figured out what it was. One of the bolts came loose and had fallen out. That's what was making the rattling noise anyway. He quickly replaced it and the other. "Okay, see how that is." He stated before moving away enough to where X could stand.

At that moment his communicator went off. There was a Maverick attack. "I'll finish when I get back. This shouldn't take more than five minutes." He walked off.
X was completely confused but didn't question it.

| Just outside of Hunter Base, a scream echoed. Veil. X took off at full speed and ran down to the main door, and was shocked to find that Veil had been cut in half at the waist. He was still conscious, just barely, with a large hole through his throat, rendering his voice useless.

| X picked up Veil's two halves and quickly carried him back to med bay. Angel almost shrieked in horror at what happened to him, and immediately started trying to fix all the damage. After only five minutes though, she stopped and walked away with a saddened look on her face.
"......he's gone...." she mumbled.

| Zero ran back up to the med bay after a moment. However, when he saw Angel's expression that was all he needed to know. He switched on his communicator. "All recruits and lower class Hunters, please remain in your barracks. All other Hunters please increase security around the base. A fellow Hunter was attacked right outside, we're on high alert." He stated over the intercom system as if he were the commander.

| Before X could answer him, Angel was at his side. "Apparently his psyche is heavily interwoven with his other systems. The shock of losing Veil must have caused his neurological responses to fire off at random again." It wouldn't take much to fix, just some rest, but still...

| X staggered slightly while he walked, but was thankfully able to stay upright after a little while. He flopped down onto the couch in Zero's room, legs pretty much limp.

| Zero went into the kitchen and grabbed something to drink. He wasn't really tired, after all he'd slept for almost two days, but he had a feeling X was. "Do you want anything?" He asked looking over at the blue reploid.
