| Zero paused in what he was doing to stare at the medic for a moment. "Because it doesn't concern anyone but me." He stated before repairing the motor functions in X's legs. It was a somewhat slow process, but X would be fully repaired by the time night came.

| The medic was still concerned. "...X is very worried about you, sir," she explained. "If something were to happen to you..." She trailed off, not wanting to think about it. The poor boy would completely break down.

| "I'll be fine." Zero didn't really reassure the medic, it was more of a statement. He didn't think that anything would happen to him, so there was no point in telling anyone else. He slowly fixed X's other motor functions and slowly woke up the blue reploid.

| X let out a small groan as he started to regain consciousness. He blinked and looked around, pausing when he noticed that he could feel his legs again. That was almost miraculous.

| "Diagnostic says everything is hooked up right, but the only way to know for sure is to move around." Zero commented before holding out his hand to offer to help X up.
He was dreading the ending of his 'break'. Once it was over his normal duties were back in place, but he still had to finish training this round of rookies. He wasn't going to actually sleep for a while.

| X sat up slowly and grasped Zero's hand, but froze as a shock traveled through his palm. It wasn't an actual electrical shock, however; more like a shock that one would get from a feeling of dread, like something terrible was going to happen. Was he just being paranoid?

| Zero noticed X froze, but didn't ask about it and helped X out of the pod when he'd regained composure of himself. He was curious why the blue reploid had done that but didn't see a reason in asking.

| X brushed off the shock as just being paranoid and clambered out of the pod carefully. His legs wobbled and almost gave out again; he wound up practically clinging to Zero to stay upright.

| Zero grunted slightly from the sudden weight that was put on him, but he helped X stand up straight. It would more than likely take some getting used to for X to be able to walk again. After all he'd been stuck in the pod for a few days.

| X waved back to Zero and quickly fell back asleep after he'd left. The medic watched Zero walk away, knowing that there was something extra to Zero getting a break that would worry X to no end.

| Zero spent the remainder of his break time resting before he had to get back up. "All recruits from 27th Unit report to training room 010 on the fourth floor. We will no longer be training outside." He stated while jogging to the command room to get his chores for the day. He could hear quite a few recruits complaining about not training outside, but he just couldn't do it and get his work done. He managed to get to the training room at around the same time as the rookies.
He ended up doing paperwork on a datapad while they trained. Luckily they were a respectful group and just followed orders. After all, they were still training, Zero just wasn't as watchful over them.

| One of the recruits had been there when the other attacked X, and he was a bit concerned for the wellbeing of the B-Class. He deliberately twisted his ankle to damage the joint and limped over to Zero. "Sir, may I report to med bay?" he asked. It was mostly an excuse to visit X and make sure he was alright. Nobody had seen him since the incident.

| "Yes sir." The recruit saluted, then limped to med bay where the medic got his information and what had happened.
"Your name is...?"
"Veil."
"Alright. Injury to the left ankle joint... Minor damage, it'll take about ten minutes to fix."
The medic got to work on Veil's ankle. While she worked, Veil glanced over nervously at X's recharge pod. He was still fast asleep...was he alright?

| When the sparring matches were over training was done with. Zero sighed in slight annoyance before running to get his actual paperwork and filling it out. He had to do his chores in between training when the recruits were actually heading to the training room.
He called the med bay from his communicator while he was running back down to the training room. If he was late once, more work would get piled on him. "Veil doesn't need to report back to training once his ankle is fixed." He stated underestimating how much longer the training would last.

| The medic got the message, then turned to Veil. "You don't need to report back for training," she relayed.
"Thank you for informing me, ma'am." Veil bowed his head respectfully. He was more aware of current situations than his fellow recruits and knew the situation Zero was in, and therefore knew the circumstance that led to him not having to report back. Instead he walked over to the recharge pod, noting that his ankle was fully repaired, and sat next to it. "......Is he alright?" he asked.

| A few hours later Zero staggered into the med bay. He needed an E-Tank and badly. He was probably single handedly depleting the bases E-Tank supply, but he didn't even care at that point. A new shipment was due in tomorrow anyway. He had paperwork in one of his hands that he needed to turn in before he got back down to the training rooms. He was convinced he was in some kind of living hell.

| Zero shoved himself away from the medic be stumbling slightly to get an E-Tank. "I can't waste that much time." He muttered before drinking it. They gave him enough of a boost to actually get through for a little while, but they weren't doing much for his sleep deprived state. He glanced over at Veil wondering why the recruit was still in the med bay before looking over at X.
Then he realized how much time he'd spent walking to the med bay. A string of muttered curses could be heard from the blond before he ran out of the room to deliver the paperwork and get back to the training room.

| Thankfully for Zero the amount of nighttime training routines were considerably less than the daytime ones, so he had a little bit more of a break between each session. He stumbled into the med bay once again and leaned against one of the counters. "I've got ten minutes." He muttered seemingly in a slight daze. He have fifteen total, but he needed the other five minutes to get ready and such.

| After a few more minutes of hushed conversation, X jumped up out of the pod rather energetically. "Thank you so much sir!!" he said happily. "Thank you thank you thank you!"
As soon as he shut off his communicator he fell backwards onto the recharge pod with his head hanging back to look at Zero. He smiled. "I contacted Dr. Cain," he explained. "He's giving you three days to rest, and putting you back on active duty afterward. I explained the situation to him and he just said that's how you are, and that Commander Sigma shouldn't have punished you this harshly just because he dislikes you."

| Although Zero was thankful, he was too exhausted to show it. Even his voice only gave an impression of being exhausted. "Thanks, X. I still have to keep working until Sigma tells me otherwise though." He stated rather simply. If he just stopped because of what X told him then he'd just end up in trouble again.

| Whenever the training session was finished and he'd actually repaired the training room he started to walk back to the med bay to put the tools back. He'd still hadn't gotten a message from Sigma. He was so out of it he didn't even notice someone following him.
Within moments a small scale explosion rocked through the base leaving a hole on the third floor where the blond was.
Alarms immediately went off and security reploids were sent down to see what had happened.

| Veil was out the door immediately, searching for any indication as to what happened. X forced himself to his feet, staggering slightly, and took off after him. He was more than worried.
I wish I could avoid violence...but if I did, this world wouldn't be able to live in peace. So I will fight for this world, to protect humans and Reploids alike.

| By the time Veil and X got down there all they could see was Zero getting arrested by the security reploids, under Sigma's orders. Even the Commander was down there.
"I didn't do anything!" Zero yelled while struggling against the other reploids. He was frustrated, damaged, and severely pissed. Nearly every joint the blond had was sparking and even some of his armor was missing in places. It was obvious he had been close to the blast.
The rookie that had shot X a few days ago was on the ground in the center of crater, dead. Apparently everyone believed that Zero had killed the recruit and then set off an explosion to make it look like the rookie had tried to kill him, but failed.
I'm not arrogant, but I don't make mistakes. I just cut down my enemies.

| "HOLD IT!!" Veil immediately ran over to the recruit, examining him. "Zero is innocent. Let him go." He pulled out something; a piece of metal with a strange purple and gold insignia on it, shaped similarly to the Greek letter sigma. Everyone knew Zero's emblem was the Z on his shoulder.
Veil stood up and held out an ID. To everyone's surprise, he wasn't a rookie at all. He was an S-Class Hunter.
"The recruit had a bomb on him," stated Veil. "He tried to ambush Zero. I've studied Zero's schematics and capabilities, and he is incapable of creating a bomb."
I wish I could avoid violence...but if I did, this world wouldn't be able to live in peace. So I will fight for this world, to protect humans and Reploids alike.

| "We'll be holding Zero in the detention center until we know that for sure." Sigma stated as if he was unimpressed with the Hunter's rank. He motioned for the other reploids to take the blond away before walking back to his office.
"They'll make up lies to keep me there!" Zero yelled while continuing to struggle against the security. He managed to kick one away from him, but two more took it's place and he was tased to be kept under control.
Not long after a forensics team was on the scene.

| "One moment, Sigma," stated Veil in a rather calm and collected voice. "I was directly sent by Dr. Cain to keep tabs on you. He knows about your little grudge against Zero. In fact, I have a message for you."
He held up a holo-pad. A video of Dr. Cain came up, and he looked rather infuriated.
"X has told me about what you've been doing," he began. "I won't stand for any of your excuses. Zero may be aggressive, but that does not give you rights to rule out any others involved. Veil was there when the recruit opened fire on Zero and X took the hit. If he'd succeeded, Zero would have been incapacitated for far longer than X was. Your actions are beginning to seem suspicious. Therefore, I am ordering you to release Zero at once. I will observe the security videos myself for anything suspicious."
"It would appear he's beginning to have doubts, Sigma," stated Veil. "And you know that nobody goes against him, lest of all his finest creation."
X simply watched in shock at the scene.

| Sigma was silent for a moment before calling out to the security reploids that were having a time trying to deal with Zero. "Let him go!" He turned his attention back to Veil. "You don't realize what you're doing. He's a threat to everyone. However, if you insist on his freedom I have no choice but to oblige." He stated in a calm voice before leaving.
Zero was dropped where he was, not even the handcuffs were taken off of him. Being shocked so many times, even after he had stopped fighting had left him nearly incapacitated. He was still aware of everything around him, he just didn't have the strength to do anything. They left him where he was before they went back to their duties.

| Veil simply glared at Sigma for a moment, then walked over to Zero and unlocked the handcuffs. He picked up the exhausted and beaten Reploid and carried him back to the med bay. X followed.
"All this time, you were an S-Class Hunter, sir...?" he asked, shocked. The only other S-Class was Commander Sigma himself. That he knew of anyway.
"Yeah," replied Veil. "And no need to be formal with me X. I'm just a regular Reploid with ties to Dr. Cain." He set Zero in the recharge pod. "Dr. Cain has noticed that Sigma has been acting rather suspicious lately, so he sent me to keep tabs on things. He asked me to pose as a rookie for now, but after you called him he told me to reveal myself if need be."
