| "Night, X." Zero called before going into his room. He didn't bother to shut the door, though he usually did. He didn't really need a recharge so he took off some of his armor and crawled into bed. He was a little surprised it had held up for longer than a week.

| After about an hour or so, something rather comical happened. X got up and stumbled back to Zero's bedroom, sleepwalking. He flopped down onto the bed next to the blonde, still fast asleep.

| Zero blinked sleepily stirred awake by the disturbance. It took him a moment to realize X had sleepwalked into his room. He pulled one of the blankets over the blue reploid before turning over to face away from him and falling back to sleep.

| Zero woke up upon feeling something messing with his hair. He'd forgotten that X had come in there sometime last night. He grumbled and sat up before looking at X somewhat confused.

| Zero shook his head and pulled up a holo screen to work while he waited for X to wake up. He didn't feel like disturbing the blue reploid since they basically only had chores to do around the base.

| X eventually mumbled sleepily and woke up, glancing around in confusion as his eyes tried to focus. They eventually did...and he let out a squeak and fell backwards off the bed when he noticed that he was cuddling close to Zero in his sleep. How did he even get in there?

| X read through the list of chores he was given. It was mostly just cleaning the rookie and C-Class training centers and repairing some busted equipment, namely chasers. It wouldn't take more than three hours. "After I finish my work, I'll help out with yours," he offered.

| "I've got it. You'll probably have to check in with the navigators after you finish to make sure they didn't find something else for you do to." Zero stated before walking out of his room. While he waited for X to exit as well so he could lock it he noticed some rookies standing around chattering.
"Get back to work scrap heaps!" He yelled obviously annoyed. It seemed they were as new as they could get since one of them back talked him.
"Whatcha gonna do, girly boy?"
A nerve probably visibly snapped in Zero as he quickly stalked over to the rookie and proceeded to knock him out. "Take your idiot to the medical bay, unless you want a lesson too." He ordered. They quickly did as they were told a dragged the unconscious reploid by his feet. It seemed some things never changed with Zero.

| X followed Zero just in time to hear the rookie's insult and see Zero knock him out. He wound up cringing. Vile treated him that exact way when he was new to HQ, except X didn't have to do anything to earn the purple Reploid's wrath. Just looking at him was enough to get punched.
A twinge of fear formed in the blue Reploid's mind. If he dawdled, Zero might do the same to him. He quickly ran--not walked--down to the training centers to get started cleaning.

| Zero didn't notice X run down to the training center and locked up his room before getting started on his work. He put off training new recruits until the end. He finished his list by the time X had finished his, except for training. He sighed before talking over the base intercom from his communicator.
"All new recruits to the 25th Unit please report to training room 004 on the third floor. Please do not bring your weapons. Training weapons will be provided." He switched off the intercom and walked the short distance to the training room. This wouldn't be fun.

| X finished with the last repairs just as he heard Zero's voice over the intercom. He was finished with his work, so he decided to go watch Zero train the rookies. As he walked, he noticed one of them concealing a rather powerful-looking buster weapon. That wasn't going to go over well...

| Zero stood in front of them and called off roll to make sure everyone that was supposed to be there was, and to make sure no one that wasn't supposed to be there wasn't. "Alright, first things first, if you have any weapons hand them over now and I won't knock your ass out." He was a rather blunt commander, but was respected enough when people knew him. Though with the new recruits he knew some of them were going to be stupid.
There was a silence as some of them looked at each other. "I won't put up with your jokes, so you'd better get serious." He stated before firing up the training simulation. "Each of you will go through one at a time. You're competing to see who is the fastest, and the best shot." He commented before motioning for the first to come up. Usually giving them competition gave them something to work for.

| X watched quietly as Zero instructed the recruits, noting that the one he'd seen earlier didn't relinquish his weapon. That was not going to end well. He looked down the line. That recruit was third down, and was casting small glances over at X that Zero likely didn't notice.

| "Next!" Zero called when the first recruit was through. The routine was to jog up to the starting line and begin when Zero told them to. "Start!" He said before starting the timer for that recruit. | The recruit strolled up to the start line, standing behind Zero, who still had his back to him. He smirked and revealed the buster weapon, firing a shock-laden blast toward Zero.
X reacted just in time to help. "Watch out!!" he called to Zero, running to him and shoving him out of the way, intercepting the shot. A surge of electricity pulsed through him, overloading his systems.

| Zero cursed at himself. He should've been more aware. He punched the recruit causing him to drop the weapon and the blond quickly stomped on it. In his pissed off state he ended up breaking the recruits firing arm before tossing him over to the others and ordering them to take him to the med bay, but in lock up.
He ran over to X and picked the blue reploid up before going to the med bay as well. He'd have to make sure none of X's internal systems were damaged since the electric shock had already dissipated. He glared over at the recruit, who was still conscious, when he walked by.

| X's condition wasn't exactly good. The shock damaged his neurological responses--in other words it paralyzed him--and he was overheated, but his breathing was shaking and irregular, coming in short gasps, like a human who had nearly drowned or suffocated. His eyes were almost completely blank, save for a very faded grey-green iris.

| Zero put X in a maintenance pod and quickly got to work on trying to help the blue reploid. All the while he could hear some of the others whispering about how he had treated the recruit and that he'd only be able to do desk work now since Zero had messed up his arm so severely.

| After a few minutes the pod's auto-repair systems regulated X's systems. His breathing returned to normal, but his body wouldn't respond to any signals for movement. He was a wreck and would likely be out of commission for a few days.

| X's eyes were half closed and completely unfocused, but he was able to "look" over at Zero before the blonde left the room. The medic Reploid noticed the concerned glance on X's face and lightly placed her hand on his cheek. She was notably kinder than the others; she wore all pink and had what looked like small angel wings.
"Don't worry," she said in a gentle tone, though X couldn't really understand her very clearly. "Commander Sigma is just asking him about what happened."

| The sound of something hitting the wall was the first thing heard from anyone in the med bay before incoherent yelling broke out. Though it was obviously Zero and Sigma. The commander could be seen walking off after a moment, and Zero could be seen picking himself up off the floor while holding his right arm. It was sparking slightly. He glanced into the room at X for a brief moment before walking off in the same direction Sigma had gone.

| Zero returned to the med bay roughly ten minutes later looking drained and ready to murder someone. Unfortunately, the recruit just didn't know when to stop. It seemed the one he'd knocked out earlier was the same one that tried to attack him. Figures.
"Can't touch me now big shot! Commander told you to leave me alone!"
The taunting easily struck Zero's nerve and he turned around to face where the recruit was getting treated. "I guess I didn't teach you a good enough lesson, huh?" He asked before stalking over to the recruit with his buster drawn.
Not even a second later probably about half the medical staff jumped the blond in an attempt to keep him away from the recruit, who looked like a ghost. Hopefully now he'd leave Zero alone now that he nearly died.

| X had regained enough of his motor functions to look over at Zero, visibly frightened. The nurse lightly stroked his cheek in an effort to calm him.

| "Get off me!" Zero said while shoving some of the medics away from him. He cast one last glare at the recruit before going over to a work bench to fix himself on his own. Whenever he had to deal with Sigma he always became like this, and everyone that had any common sense got out of his way or did what he told them to.

| Whenever he finished he went over to the medic that was watching over X. "How's he doing?" He didn't sound concerned, but he didn't sound uncaring either. He had a rather flat tone at the moment.

| "His motor functions are coming back online," replied the medic, "but the surge of electricity has jammed most of his systems. His buster is completely offline, as are his legs. It'll take some time to repair him."

| Zero nodded at the results. "Make sure he doesn't leave here until he's fully recovered." He stated before turning to leave. He still had work to do and recruits to train. That was his punishment. To be stuck on training duty unless a Maverick attack happened.
