| "Thanks." Zero mumbled before leaving. "All recruits from 30th Unit please report to training room 002 on the third floor. Don't you dare bring your weapon. Training weapons will be provided. Anyone late will be forced to train longer than the rest." He hated talking over the intercom but he'd have to get used to it. He had a feeling Sigma was going to keep him on training duty for as long as possible.

| It was several hours before X regained consciousness, and when he did he knew something was wrong. ".....I can't feel my legs..." he mumbled to himself.
The nurse Reploid sighed. He was effectively paralyzed.

| "Let's go! I can walk faster than how some of you are running!" Zero could be heard yelling at recruits outside. Sigma had effectively started a boot camp for all the recruits with or without realizing it. Thankfully for the blond they all knew what he did to the other that shot X, so he had little problems other than occasional back talk.

| The medic set to work carefully running some repair programs that would fix X's nervous system, but it would only be a temporary fix to make sure that there was no permanent damage. If he could feel his legs afterward, he would be fine.

| After the wave of recruits he had was done training he jogged up to the med bay to check up on X. He hadn't checked on him in a while so he figured he might as well see how he was doing before calling in the next round of recruits.

| Unfortunately, X was having far too much trouble moving his legs after they had come back online. It was a struggle to even lift one to bend the knee. His condition was rather poor.

| X glanced over at Zero when the blonde apologized. "You don't need to apologize," he said simply. It wasn't Zero's fault this had happened to him. The medic Reploid started running more programs, attempting to repair his legs.

| "I should've been more aware." Zero stated his tone suggesting he wouldn't believe any different. He grabbed an E-Tank to give himself a boost. "I'd stay and help but I can't." He said with a sigh. He was on break at the moment and only had maybe three more minutes.

| "Zero, it's fine, really." X seemed a tad depressed. "I should have told you beforehand. I noticed that he seemed a bit suspicious and didn't tell you." He knew Zero had to get back to training the rookies, so he wouldn't keep him any longer than need be.
Before he could return to standby mode, a message appeared in his peripheral vision from Commander Sigma.
I can't access Zero's frequency at the moment, but let him know that once you've fully recovered he may return to active duty.

| After a few hours, the medic reactivated X's nervous systems. "Alright, now try it," she said.
X managed to lift his right leg and bend it with only a little trouble. He'd have to basically re-learn how to walk through physical therapy, but all in all he was fine.

| Zero yelling and lots of swears could be heard outside, however only moments later the blond came busting through one of the windows skidding across the med bay floor on his back. Luckily he didn't hit anyone. A recruit could be seen running away in the opposite direction.
The blond was on his feet again in moments and chasing after him. "Get back here so I can rip that dipshit grin off your face!!" The site was probably confusing and amusing to the others, but base security was quickly chasing Zero to make sure he didn't go through with that threat.

| Zero was dragged up to the med bay in handcuffs while the recruit was carried there to get his injuries looked at. Sigma had extended his training status and also ordered him to fix the window that was broken. After being released he walked over to the window in silence and began working, not bothering to look at anyone.
It seemed his personality was getting warped from training recruits.

| X completely ignored having to go through physical therapy and forced himself up out of the recovery pod. His legs wobbled unsteadily and threatened to give way; he had to use nearby counters and tables for support. The blue Reploid cautiously walked over to his friend to start helping him.

| Zero stopped X before he could start working. "You need to focus on getting better." He stated in a somewhat flat tone. The base security was still standing in the infirmary, which annoyed him to no end. He didn't need to be babysat. "It's my mess to clean up." The way he said that sounded like an order to go back over to the medic.

| X remained silent when Zero spoke. "Y-yes sir..." he mumbled before trudging and stumbling back over to the pod and the medic. It felt like things were back to how they were before they'd started hanging out together; X was shy and quiet around Zero and afraid to be near him, and Zero seemed to show no real interest in anyone or anything.
It hurt.

| Whenever Zero finished up he waved away the guards. After all, they were only there to make sure he actually did it. "Whenever you can walk maybe you can come down to one of the training sessions. It'll get you back in shape." He suggested noticing how dejected X looked. Though he didn't really know why.
The blond pulled up a datapad and clicked on his communicator. "All recruits numbers 00001 through 00100 report outside immediately. Your ranking test will begin shortly." They had too many recruits that he had to train.

| Zero grimaced at X's expression and although he wanted to stay, he couldn't. He scribbled down a note before sticking it where the medic would see it and leaving. He was on a 24/7 training schedule that was putting a serious strain on his systems, but he ignored it and continued to take E-Tanks along with purging his system with energy canisters. It would do for now.
He had to rank each and every one of the ten-thousand recruits they had based off of normal course records. This wouldn't be fun in the slightest.

| Zero sighed as he remembered how messy his handwriting got when he was in a hurry. He'd told the medic to send X down to training whenever he was better, or at least well enough to train. He just hoped she could read it. If not, maybe X could.
His attention went back to the recruits as he gave each of them ranks when they went through the course.

| After a few more minutes the medic was able to decipher Zero's chicken-scratch writing. She nervously glanced over at X; the blue Reploid looked too dejected to even move, and his legs just couldn't support his weight without proper maintenance. Zero was the only one who knew his schematics well enough to do anything, but...
X looked like he was scared of Zero all of a sudden. Why?

| Zero managed to finally finish grading about half the recruits before he was given a break. Thirty minutes was the longest time he'd been given since he started. He ended up dragging himself up to the med bay to check on X and get another E-Tank. He wanted to rest, but he knew if he did he wouldn't wake up in time. He looked entirely drained when he walked into the med bay.

| Zero woke up with ten minutes to spare though he groaned and rubbed his head. He felt groggy. It was probably because he hadn't actually slept in quite a while. He stood up and had to support himself against a nearby counter before managing to pull himself back to his senses. He looked over at X wondering if the blue reploid was doing any better.

He stated sounding slightly hurt even through his inexpressive state. He turned to leave to go back to the training grounds. | X could hear that Zero was hurt, but he just couldn't find words that could help in the least. His friend was still there, right? This was still the Zero who actually saw him, right?
The medic gave a small nod to X, who quickly composed a message for Commander Sigma.
Sir, I know this is out of place for me to ask, but please, let Zero rest. It was my fault for not warning him earlier about the trainee's suspicious actions. Let me take the blame.
He forced himself out of the pod to stand and ran after Zero, but before he could catch up his legs gave out and he collapsed onto the floor.

| Zero was already calling for the next round of recruits over the intercom and didn't hear X in the slightest. He gritted his teeth and went outside and waited for the rookies to line up. He had set up ten courses all exactly the same just to get the process over faster. "Begin! Whenever the person in front of you has crossed the finish your time will start!" He had practically turned into a drill sergeant, but it definitely got the rookies into shape faster.

| With everyone else either training or away from the base, nobody noticed X laying on the floor of the hallway outside the training room. He didn't bother to move, didn't even attempt to get up. What was the point? He wouldn't be able to walk. And he hadn't gotten a reply from Commander Sigma either...

I can't do that X. He attacked the recruit with more force than necessary. The reploid is stuck doing desk work.
Zero must train recruits until the time we specified. That is that.
I do hope you recover soon.
One of the recruits had passed out from overheating and Zero was stuck dragging the unconscious reploid to the med bay. He definitely hadn't been expecting to see X in the middle of the hallway. "Why are you out here?" He asked keeping his neutral tone even though he was somewhat surprised. He managed to haul X up as well and carry/drag the two of them to the med bay.

Zero probably wouldn't notice it at first, but there was something dripping down onto the floor as he dragged the two Reploids back to the med bay.

| X couldn't get his damaged motor functions moving to wipe his tears away. "I.....I tried to....to get Commander Sigma t-to lessen your punishment...." he half-whimpered. "Y...you seemed too exhausted to keep this up...." He was actually very worried about Zero. The stress and constant work was obviously too much for the blonde, but...
I wish I could avoid violence...but if I did, this world wouldn't be able to live in peace. So I will fight for this world, to protect humans and Reploids alike.

| Zero carried X back over to his maintenance pod and wiped the blue reploids tears away. He couldn't say he'd ever seen a reploid cry before so it was rather surprising. "The great commander hates me so there's no way he'll lessen it." He stated malice in his voice. He and Sigma had a strained relationship at best. "I'll see if I can get longer breaks that way I can rest and work on your motor functions. It looks like they need more complex maintenance than the medic can handle."

| X didn't say a word and just sat there in the pod. He felt awful for not being able to help Zero, with how much the blonde had helped him.
It wasn't surprising in the least that Zero was confused about the tears. X was the only Reploid capable of crying. The only one capable of true human emotions. He'd just never shown them. At least, not when anyone was around, other than Dr. Cain of course.
I wish I could avoid violence...but if I did, this world wouldn't be able to live in peace. So I will fight for this world, to protect humans and Reploids alike.

| "I'll be back in a few minutes." Zero stated before exiting the medical bay, dismissing the rookies he'd left earlier, and walking to Sigma's office. He came back into the med bay a couple minutes later with a pen stuck in one of his shoulder joints. It made it somewhat difficult to move his arm but he ignored it for the most part. It was worth it to get more time 'off'.

| X looked back over when Zero came back into the med bay and upon noticing the pen in his shoulder knew that he'd gone to talk to Commander Sigma. That was so foolish. Commander Sigma didn't like Zero, so why would he bother?
The medic carefully extracted the pen from Zero's shoulder and patched up the hole for him. It was barely noticeable when she was done.
I wish I could avoid violence...but if I did, this world wouldn't be able to live in peace. So I will fight for this world, to protect humans and Reploids alike.

| "I managed to get him to give me a few hours off today. I can work on your motor functions and be able to rest some." Zero stated while the medic worked. He didn't bother telling X the other half of the deal, the blue reploid would just worry more. When she was finished with his shoulder he went over to X and pulled up a holo screen to look at a diagnostic of his motor functions.

| X blinked in surprise. Commander Sigma actually gave Zero some time to rest? There had to be something more to that, but he wouldn't ask. Instead he put himself into sleep mode so Zero could work.
The medic walked over to Zero and placed her hand on his shoulder. "There's something else, isn't there?" she asked in a voice soft enough that wouldn't wake X.
