| X repositioned himself so he was laying on Zero's stomach again with his head on the blonde's chest. His features seemed to be more feline now; his eyes were a very bright shade of green and the pupils were slit, and his mouth now curved up ever so slightly like a cat's smile, though that might just have been because he was also smiling.
He oddly imagined himself with a bell collar and a bow on his tail all of a sudden.
I wish I could avoid violence...but if I did, this world wouldn't be able to live in peace. So I will fight for this world, to protect humans and Reploids alike.

| X hopped down off of Zero, landing rather nimbly on all fours before standing upright. He quickly altered his appearance back to his robed form, but with a few small differences--namely that it now resembled a short-sleeved shirt and a pair of pants--then gave a small tug on Zero's arm, ears flicking excitedly.

| X kind of wanted to pry a couple of the gems out--a ruby for himself and a sapphire for Zero--since their colors seemed to mirror those that X and Zero favored. Unfortunately he doubted he would be able to. Plus he didn't want to mar the beauty of the cavern.

| X held the ruby up to the sunlight to examine it, noting that it was almost crystal-clear, like a piece of red glass, and very beautiful. The sunlight shining through the ruby landed on his face, creating a reddish reflection on his cheeks that almost looked like he was blushing. He purred happily at how pretty it was, his ears twitching.

| X looked around the cavern, admiring the beauty that was their new getaway. His gaze constantly traveled to the lake, which was never cold. Oh, how he wished he could swim. But sadly he was unable, and due to having to breathe he couldn't stay underwater very long at all, something he still wasn't used to after nearly two centuries of being a Reploid that didn't require air. And the lake was very deep, too, so hanging onto Zero's back was probably out of the question.

| Zero noticed that X kept looking back at the lake. He had a feeling the brunette wanted to swim, but was unable to since he couldn't hold his breath for very long. He'd barely made it out of the lake earlier with X still conscious. He wished he could teach the cyber elf how to swim, but he couldn't either since he was a reploid. He didn't have to hold his breath underwater though. He could just switch the intake and breathe normally underwater.

| X eventually noticed that there was one rather shallow spot in the water. It looked like it would only come to roughly chest-level for him, which would be about waist-high to Zero. He lightly tapped Zero's forehead and pointed the spot out. Even if neither of them could swim, they could at least play in the water a bit.

| Zero looked over at the lake where X pointed. It took him a minute to realize why the brunette had pointed at that spot but when he did he sat up so that X could stand up. He stretched causing his back to pop. He wasn't sure why reploids joints could pop as well, but they could. "You wanna go play in the water?" He asked before looking at the cyber elf. It was obvious he did, he was teasing X a little.

| X blinked slightly when he heard Zero's back pop. He didn't think a Reploid's "bones" COULD pop. He shrugged it off however, nodding. "I was kind of hoping you'd come too," he offered. He hadn't been able to hang out like this with Zero since...before the Elf Wars, actually. The last time they'd ever done anything relating to swimming was after the Giga City mission, when they played around in the sunken areas of the slab of rock they were stranded on.

| "I don't know how I'm able to do that either." Zero commented noticing X's confused expression. He'd only discovered he could do that recently. Kind of like him purring. He stood up and offered his hand to pull X up as well. It had been a long time since they'd played in water. The last time that happened Axl was still with them. At least he thought the younger reploid was. His memory files seemed to have crammed together in certain areas causing memories to morph. Some he knew weren't right, others not so much.

| X smiled and kept ahold of Zero's hand, then took off running toward the shallow spot in the lake. He fondly remembered the last time he and Zero got to play in water. Axl was the only one capable of "swimming", due to his hover ability allowing hiim to move almost effortlessly in the water. Zero and X both sank like stones, mainly Zero due to his hair. He wondered if it would be any problem now since Zero was much lighter since he didn't have his armor.
I wish I could avoid violence...but if I did, this world wouldn't be able to live in peace. So I will fight for this world, to protect humans and Reploids alike.

| Zero followed X over to the lake, smiling at how excited the brunette seemed to be. Apparently X liked to 'swim' more than he would've guessed.

| Once they reached the spot in the lake, X took his shoes off and carefully stepped into the water. He kept one foot on the ledge until he found the bottom, which was, as he predicted, roughly chest-high. There was another ledge that the two could sit on, and the shallow spot was fairly large, like a pool, but dropped off dangerously into deeper water.
I wish I could avoid violence...but if I did, this world wouldn't be able to live in peace. So I will fight for this world, to protect humans and Reploids alike.

| Zero changed how his hair was tied up so that the very end of it stopped around the middle of his back. He never tied his hair up like this all that often, but it was useful to keep it out of the way. It would also keep most of it from getting wet unless he just laid in the water. He stepped into the lake and realized that it came to just above his waist on him. X really was short. He chuckled since if he was in his newer design, he'd be shorter than he was now, and closer to X's height.
