| X looked up at the holo screen, noting that its display changed. He walked back over and tapped on "Yes" to see what could be done. He currently had a red mark on his forehead from hitting the nightstand so many times.

It seemed the systems solutions were entirely limited, and things X would more than likely not want to do. A memory dump was exactly what it sounded like, Zero would lose all his memories but stay how he was personality wise. A complete reset would put Zero back at the same state he was when he first awoke.

| X was actually frozen in shock at the two different options he was provided with. Regardless of which one he chose, he would lose Zero. If he kept Zero's personality but not his memories, he would lose the friendship he spent two centuries forging. If he went with a complete reset, the same would happen, but he would completely lose Zero, as there were hardly any ways to remind him of anything.
Tears formed in X's eyes as he looked over at the blonde. He had just gotten him back...would he really have to lose him again so soon...?

| The cursor on the holo screen was blinking, as if it was loading something. Since X hadn't chosen one of the prompts within a set time another prompt came up. The other two options stayed at the top.

The cursor was blinking asking for X to enter a code. It was only numbers as that was the only thing that was highlighted on the 'keyboard'.

| Access code? X didn't know about any kind of code that Zero had, except for one he glanced at when he was studying the older Reploid's blueprints one day. Even then, he was hesitant to enter it, as he didn't know what it would do.
Still, it was better than just letting Zero get any worse.
X fumbled through his memory, trying to remember the code. It eventually came to him, and he keyed it in: 25237819459. He didn't press Enter yet though, casting one last look at Zero. He wanted to at least remember these last few days in the event something did happen to him.
The brunette pressed Enter to input the code, then walked out of the room. If Zero lost his memories, if he was back how he was when he first woke up, X didn't want to be in there when he woke up. He didn't know how the blonde would react.

| The code didn't awaken Zero, instead a string of zeroes and ones filled the screen before clearing out once again. However, since X had decided to leave the room he had no idea that he could've prevented some of the things that happened. Unless he glanced back and saw it before he left.

| X looked back over his shoulder one last time before he left the room, pausing in mid-step when he saw that the display had changed completely. He walked back over to it, reading the display, and was shocked. He could make it where Zero would keep his memories and personality completely?
X hit cancel on "Editing Memories", "Editing Core", and "Resetting Primary Objective". His core wasn't damaged, at least he didn't think so, so there was no sense in changing that, especially if that would change who Zero was. Editing memories was definitely out of the question, as was his primary objective--since he was created to kill X and be a Maverick at heart. He could only hope for the best.

Unlike the last set of things this one didn't have a cancel option. It seemed it used the pause to fix everything else on the list while saving that one for last.

| X simply watched and waited as the screen did its thing, standing quietly with his hands clasped at his chest. The last thing worried him slightly, since he knew the virus and Zero were two separate entities in one body, but since the virus separated from him perhaps there wouldn't be anything to worry about. Instead, he turned his attention to the still-unresponsive blonde, watching carefully for any sign of him waking up.

It was obvious that Zero's systems weren't going to wake him until the virus was back where it should be. The system shock was just a small jolt of electricity that would awaken Zero from his sleep mode. However, it didn't seem to want to do that until Virus Zero and Zero were in the same body again.

| X sighed. He had a feeling that things wouldn't run smoothly without the virus there. And most likely if he went to wake the virus up, he'd just be attacked, or he would take over Zero again. But he doubted his own ability would be able to wake him up.
He really REALLY didn't want to do this, but it looked like he'd have to.
The brunette walked down to the basement laboratory, where he found the virus in stasis, and input a command prompt to wake him up, then braced himself for an attack.

| The virus woke up slowly and looked around somewhat confused. He'd forgotten that he'd been trapped in the pod. He sat up surprised to see X. "Miss me?" He asked before jumping out of the pod and standing in front of X. He wasn't sure why the cyber elf had woken him up, but he was awake regardless.

| Virus Zero smirked and grabbed X's chin. "Lucky for you I don't have all that much power when Zero's in this state." He said before letting go of the brunette and walking ahead of him. | X followed the virus, rather surprised that he wasn't able to torment him as he usually would. Normally when Zero was in a shutdown state the virus would come out and "play". Instead he simply walked ahead of him and went straight to the holo screen.
"I found a code that seems to be Zero's access code," he explained. "If an automatic resync doesn't work, then maybe the code will allow a manual transfer, so there's no reason to just linger."

| "What was the code?" The virus asked looking back at X. Zero had about three different sets of codes. It was a safety protocol set up by their creator. The only reason that the virus was able to mess with X when Zero went into a shut down mode was because they were in the same body. So he could just use all of Zero's systems as if they were his own.

| X's legs gave way, causing the brunette to sag against the wall and slide down it to a sitting position. He pulled his knees close to his chest, still shivering.

| Zero looked down at X confused. "X.?" He wasn't sure if X was okay or not, but for some reason he was hesitant to get close to the brunette. That's when he noticed the small amount of blood and X's ripped shirt. That was really all he needed to confirm his worst thought. He backed away slightly.

| When Zero stepped back a bit, X looked up at the blonde, realizing that this was HIS Zero and not the virus. Immediately the brunette sprung to his feet and hugged him tight, burying his face into his chest. He was still shaking.

| Zero stumbled backwards slightly not expecting X to do that. He held the cyber elf close to him though. He rubbed X's back hoping to help the brunette calm down slightly.

| The initial shock finally wore off, and the tears that had been trying to form in X's eyes finally spilled over. He began to cry into Zero's chest, the virus' "game" having terrified him.

| X's crying eventually tapered off to soft whimpers, but he didn't release Zero. If the virus tried to come back out he would run with all he had, but for now, Zero's presence was comforting.
