| X had let out a small, somewhat surprised sound when Zero pulled him closer, so that the brunette was sitting right against the blonde. He looked up at his friend with the faintest of blushes on his cheeks. He was now wide awake from the sudden motion, and since Zero seemed to be in good condition, he figured he asked.
"......Did you mean it...?"
I wish I could avoid violence...but if I did, this world wouldn't be able to live in peace. So I will fight for this world, to protect humans and Reploids alike.

| Zero glanced down at X. "What?" He asked half from not being sure if he heard right and half from slightly not wanting to answer. It was probably one of the few times he'd actually been nervous. And it showed enough. Unfortunately Zero wasn't aware just how obvious it was. Even though his expression was usually stoic his nervousness and slight embarrassment was written all across his face.

| X blinked innocently as if not noticing how nervous his friend was. "Earlier," he continued. "When you were trying to calm me down so I wouldn't kill myself from worrying so much. Did you mean it?"
He hadn't even noticed the holo screen from earlier, the one revealing the emotions in the folder named after him. Most likely if he had, then he probably wouldn't have to ask this.

| Zero hesitated for a moment before nodding. "Yeah." His voice was a little quieter than usual. As if he didn't actually want to say it. Now that they were actually fine he was a little unsure in saying it. He mighy not have a full range of emotions but he had enough to be worried about rejection. Although if he were thinking clearly he would've realized that X wouldn't be asking in the way he had if he didn't feel the same. Or at the very least a little bit of the same.

| X remained silent, keeping his head resting against Zero's shoulder. That one single word confirmed it, and a whole wave of thoughts came crashing over him, most of which didn't have any coherent meaning. The one that repeated over and over in his mind was He said he loved me...and he meant it... Nobody's ever said that before, not even a friend.
It was a rather odd feeling, and yet...it was somehow a little familiar.
He wasn't as shocked or confused as he should have been. After all, he really didn't expect his best friend--who was a male like himself--to say he loved him. Did he mean it in THAT way? Or did he mean it in that human, friendship way? That was really all that confused him.
Why?
Simple.
He loved Zero as well. He had for a very long time.
He was just too shy to say it.

| Zero could sense X's confusion. He wasn't really sure what the brunette was confused about. Then again he didn't understand X sometimes, although those times were rather few. He decided not to leave any doubt. At least then they'd both know for sure. He tilted X's head up with his free hand and leaned down and kissed the brunette.

| X was so distracted by his thoughts that he was caught completely off-guard when Zero kissed him. The motion when Zero tilted the brunette's head up to face him was rather quick and sudden, and the moment their lips met X felt his "heart" jump several beats. His cheeks lit up with a bright blush, almost as red as Zero's vest.
The kiss was most certainly unexpected.
Well, that answered that question. It was most definitely NOT the friendship type of love.

| "U-umm..." X really couldn't put together a coherent sentence at the moment. He was still greatly surprised that Zero actually kissed him. He looked down at his hands, which were fiddling with the cloth of his robes in nervousness.
So Zero really did love him.
There was absolutely no faking that kiss. Zero wasn't the type who would just kiss someone out of nowhere without showing feelings for them. Even if he didn't have all his memories.
The brunette felt a bit strange, mostly because he actually kind of enjoyed the kiss. It was his first, after all, though he never expected that the first person to ever kiss him would be Zero.
After a few moments, X looked back up at Zero shyly, their faces still just inches apart. "I-I..." He was stammering again. He only stammered when he was extremely nervous or shy. He just wanted to say the same to Zero.

| Zero leaned his forehead against X's gently and closed his eyes. "I love you too, X." He muttered knowing what X wanted to say. He really didn't know when his feelings for X started. But according to the files it was before he lost his memories.
He actually felt happy for once. He didn't understand it completely but he didn't need to. All that mattered was that X felt the same about him.

He didn't pay any mind, however. He smiled, his blush lightening a little. Zero knew exactly what the brunette wanted to say and understood.

| X couldn't help but giggle when Zero kissed him on the forehead. Zero never acted like this toward anyone. Not after losing Iris. It was kind of unusual, but at the same time very cute.
The brunette reached up and gently removed Zero's helmet, causing the blonde's hair to spill down over his shoulders. He found that Zero looked a bit more handsome without the helmet.

| When X found that he was now sitting on Zero's lap, he almost blushed again. Key word being "almost". The close contact barely even fazed him now. He was always more comfortable around Zero than anyone else, even Axl, because he'd known the blonde for so long. However, back then he was always nervous to be too close to Zero, because he didn't want the blonde to feel awkward or uncomfortable. Now things were different.
X looked up at Zero with a shy smile. He was debating whether or not he should kiss him.

He had a feeling that fixing X's hair stemmed from the habit of fixing his own hair when it was down. He wasn't sure if X found the habit annoying or not, but he'd stop if the brunette told him to.

| X really couldn't stop himself at this point. He purred when Zero started to play with his hair, sounding like a happy kitten being pet. It honestly didn't bother him at all. Back when he was first designed, he didn't even have hair under his helmet. After a few upgrades, however, he was given artificial hair like his elder brothers--short and dark brown. As a Cyber-elf and able to take on a physical manifestation in an appearance of his choosing, he decided to finally abandon his helmet and give himself short, somewhat messy brown hair. He liked Zero messing with it.
The brunette looked up at Zero again, moving a little closer so their faces were inches apart. He seemed like he was about to kiss him, but as he got closer, he chickened out a little, kissing the blonde on the cheek instead.
He needed to really work on being so shy.

He really had thought that X was going to kiss him but it seemed that the brunette had hesitated and kissed his cheek instead. He smiled, but leaned in and kissed the cyber elf again. It seemed it would take a little while until X was completely comfortable.

| X was mentally berating himself again, this time for being so shy, but his mental scolding was cut short when Zero kissed him. It seemed Zero was much more comfortable about it than X was, but he wasn't complaining at all.
Instead, X closed his eyes, enjoying the kiss. He broke away for a moment, realizing that sitting on Zero's leg had caused his rear to go numb. He kind of wanted to sit back on his bed.

| X straightened his legs out and scooted a little closer to Zero, resting his head lightly against the blonde's shoulder. He was enjoying spending time with the blonde, even more than usual. It was also probably so enjoyable because of how long it had been since X and Zero were able to even spend time together.
A floaty feeling bloomed in his stomach, making him feel like he'd started to levitate slightly. He chalked it up to the fact that he was now able to admit that he loved Zero.

| X let out another content purr when Zero started to play with his hair again, relaxing a great deal when he did so. Without realizing it, he'd stretched out, lying on his side with his head resting against Zero's shoulder and his left leg draped partially over Zero's. It appeared that when he was relaxed, he was more comfortable.

| X had started to fall asleep from Zero playing with his hair, but he forced himself to stay awake. They'd been sleeping long enough today.
Having been so relaxed, X decided to try again. He pushed himself upright a bit with one hand against Zero's stomach, then leaned up and kissed Zero.

He hadn't felt this calm since before Zero sealed himself away and X became the ruler of Neo Arcadia. In all honestly, he was truly happy, but also felt a small assortment of mixed emotions as well, namely that he felt...whole. He'd always felt that something was missing in his life. Was this it?

| X's breathing started to slow a little as he relaxed so much he started to fall asleep. He vaguely thought about how Zero used to nag him when he fell asleep at Hunter HQ, falling asleep on the job, but even then he was never harsh about waking him. A small nudge of his shoulder was usually all it took to wake X up. He'd just pick on him for falling asleep. Now he was somewhat wondering if Zero would mess with him for falling asleep like this again, but he doubted Zero would even mind, since he was just as relaxed.
He twitched a little as Zero's hand brushed his side a little, waking him when he hit a somewhat sensitive nerve. He looked up at Zero, still smiling a bit. He was just so happy to be around him.

He ended up poking X's side in the same place that had caused him to twitch before. He didn't feel quite as bad for bothering X, since it was obvious that the brunette was awake if only slightly.

| Zero chuckled and managed to pin X down and continued to tickle the brunette. For some reason torturing the cyber elf this way was a stress reliever, although he was certain it caused X more stress. Well if it did he figured the brunette would tell him. For now though he'd have his fun.

| "Stopitstopitstopit!!" X practically pleaded through his laughter. He was laughing so much that his face had turned red and tears were forming in his eyes. He was probably one of the only Reploids who was ticklish at HQ, as he never once attempted to tickle Zero, but even if he wasn't the only one, he was probably the MOST ticklish.

| Zero laughed and stopped upon hearing X plead. He was wondering if he was ticklish himself. X had never tried to get pay back, maybe because the cyber elf feared that the blond would just start tickling him again. Memories flashed through his mind causing him to wince and rub his head. He wished that process wasn't so painful for him.

| X took a moment to catch his breath after laughing so much, then turned his attention back to Zero. After a moment he noticed that the blonde was in pain.
"Z-Zero, are you okay?" he asked, visibly worried.

| "My memories are just starting to come back." He said closing one of his eyes as if in an attempt to ignore the pain. It seemed his memories wanted to come back all at once, making it that much more painful.
After a few minutes all of his memories were in place and in order. But there was still one missing. The one on Ragnarok. He ignored it though. He had a feeling he'd never really know.

| X pushed himself up to a sitting position and placed his hands against Zero's head, lightly rubbing the blonde's temples with his thumbs in an attempt to get the pain in his head to dull a bit. All the while, he was trying to figure out how Zero's memories came back so abruptly. Neither of them had done anything to ring any bells, unless Zero remembering that X was ticklish counted.

| Zero closed his eyes thankful for X helping him. Surprisingly it was making his headache dull a little. He didn't know why his memories came back. He thought that he had to do something to trigger them before they would.
CORE FULLY INTEGRATED. CORRUPTED FILES REPAIRED. REVERTING TO A PREVIOUS STATE.
He wasn't expecting any kind of message from his systems, and that was obvious since he opened his eyes but looked a bit confused. Reverting to a previous state? What did that mean? Although he wouldn't notice, X surely would. His eyes changed to a deep blue, but one was dull, tipping the cyber elf off that he had received a system message.

| X pulled away from the blonde after his eyes opened again, surprised at the color. His eyes, which had turned almost black after he was awakened by Ciel, were blue. The same blue as they were when he was a Maverick Hunter. The left eye was grayed over slightly, a sign X recognized as a "pop-up" message.
"What does it say?" asked X.

| "Core fully integrated. Corrupted files repaired. Reverting to a previous state." Zero repeated what the message said before closing out the message. "I think the new core caused my systems to somehow fix itself fully." he said before rubbing his head again. It didn't hurt as much as before, but it was still throbbing slightly.
It seemed a new core was the last thing he needed to be 'complete' again. Sometimes his systems didn't work as well if he had older parts. That's why he was always repairing himself, to keep everything in check.

| X couldn't help smiling. His handiwork apparently did something more than he expected. Instead of simply saving Zero's life by giving him a new core to keep him alive, the new core actually repaired his systems to an extent.
In other words, X fixed something he didn't realize was broken.

| Zero ended up smiling a bit as well. "Remember one time you asked me why I was always repairing myself even though I wasn't really that damaged, but the alarm went off before I could give you an answer? Well, this is why. For some reason if my parts are too old my systems start to run less effectively." he informed the cyber elf. He had only learned of that after they had defeated Sigma for the first time, and even then it was by accident.

| "Ah, now I get it," commented X.
The brunette curled up against Zero again, cuddling close to him with his head on the blonde's shoulder. "It's good to know I helped, though," he said in a somewhat thoughtful voice. "If I'd known that before, I would have helped sooner... Maybe I can be useful as a Cyber-elf after all then..."
He let out a forced chuckle. Zero would never agree to let X heal him like that again. He'd protest that X would be wasting his energy and hurting himself. Like always.

| Zero shook his head. "I can repair myself." he stated before wrapping his arm around X's shoulder. It was true, he was pretty much the only one who knew how to properly repair his parts. For some reason they were build differently than most other reploids. He had a feeling that was an idea on his creators part to keep others from being able to easily replicate him.
He shuddered slightly when he thought about who had created him and what he was created for. A sudden thought hit him. If his systems were reverting to a pervious state, wouldn't that mean that the virus would be awakened again? The thought worried him.
