X managed to strafe to the side enough to avoid a direct hit, but the Ride Armor's fist connected with his side, causing the blue Reploid to spin a little before regaining his balance.

Zero fired a fully charged shot at Vile. He knew if he shot at the ride armor nothing would really happen. Unless they kept up continuous powerful attacks. But even then it would be better to attack Vile himself.

X rolled out of the way of Vile's attack, though a couple of bullets scratched across his left leg and arm. His morals were screaming at him to hold fire, to not attack, but at the same time his instinct of self-preservation was screaming even louder to strike back. He didn't know what to do, and it was all causing his core processors to hurt.

Vile started shooting the suit's gun at full power in X's direction.

X didn't shoot, instead bolting down the hall to dodge the bullets. He barely got three steps away, however, before a round pierced his left leg and dropped him. Again his processors were overclocking themselves trying to rationalize shooting Vile.

Zero jumped up on the back of Vile's ride armor when the purple reploid had turned his attention to X. He tried to fire a charged shot at the back of Vile's head. It seemed like he would have to fight Vile on his own if he wanted to get anything done.

The pain Vile felt was unbelievable. His arm had a major weak point at his neck and Zero had nearly hit it dead on. The pain actually caused the connection with the ride armor to break.

X managed to pull himself up to his feet again and hurried over to Zero to make sure he was alright. His left leg hurt terribly but other than that he seemed fine. "Are you alright?" he asked. That charged shot was a bit more powerful than he intended it to be.

X was so busy trying to figure out how to deal with the situation that he nearly fell when Zero grabbed his arm and pulled him out of range of the blast. No doubt Vile was killed in the explosion.

Zero was through slightly off balance by the force of the explosion, but managed to keep himself up right. He looked back at the hallway, noticing the explosion had blasted a hole into the surrounding walls and ceiling. There was little chance Vile survived something like that.

X practically faceplanted into a wall from the force of the explosion, since he was a bit lighter than Zero and was pushed back further. He glanced back into the room, freezing when he saw Vile still standing, but then relaxing slightly when he collapsed.

"What on earth was he thinking...?" he wondered aloud.

X's shoulders slumped slightly as he stared numbly at the ground. Why did he even bother with anything anymore? He was a failure. A waste of resources. A weakling who belonged in the scrap heap? The only person to ever acknowledge him was even disappointed in him.

Zero turned to face the group of medics that were busy doing nothing but snicker under their breaths. "Get to work trash heaps!" He partially growled. He was tired of those that were meant to help people stand around and judge others. Ignoring or talking back to the blond at that point was obviously suicide as he seemed ready to haul off and attack anyone who dared approach him with an attitude.

When the medics scattered to pretend to do something he glanced over at X, noticing that the blue reploid seemed upset. He wondered if it was because of him, although, he couldn't think of why it would be.

X quietly got to work patching up the hole in his leg, though he was lost in thought. Compared to the rather impressive patchwork he'd done for Zero, the repairs to his leg were rather sloppy. It was almost as if he wasn't even trying, like he didn't care if he'd repaired his leg or not.

Besides, why should he even worry about being repaired? Why worry about any of that anymore? He was just a failure who dragged down everyone.

He didn't deserve a promotion. He didn't deserve any respect. He was just that weak blue Reploid that did the paperwork.
