| Zero had planned to go to the cafe, but X looked so depressed that he decided to make some himself. He walked down to the cafeteria and went into the kitchen before rummaging around in the cupboards. He began making the coffee without using the coffee maker, which took a little longer but made it taste quite a bit better.

| X sat at a table close to the wall, taking the seat nearest the wall and staring blankly at the table. He kept his hands folded neatly in his lap, and overall looked like that meek, shy Hunter from a few days ago.

| Zero put everything on a tray and balanced it on one of his hands before walking over to the table that X had seated himself at. He set down the tray before sitting across from the blue reploid. There was a pot of coffee, two mugs, sugar, milk and creamer. He'd just grabbed everything since he couldn't remember how X liked his coffee. "Cheer up." He said while pouring coffee into one of the mugs and setting it in front of X before pouring himself a cup.

| X silently took one of the mugs and poured himself some coffee, putting in quite a bit of sugar and creamer. He still didn't look at Zero, however, instead staring blankly at the mug in his hands. It was just stuck in his head that he was a failure and that he shouldn't have any friends or anything, that he should just stay alone for the rest of his existence.
I wish I could avoid violence...but if I did, this world wouldn't be able to live in peace. So I will fight for this world, to protect humans and Reploids alike.

| X quietly sipped his coffee, savoring the familiar sweetness. He eventually looked up from the coffee to Zero, then back down at the mug. He wasn't very willing to speak. Whenever he was in that shell of his, it took forever to get him out. Zero knew that.

| After a while Zero spoke again. "Is the coffee any good?" He asked while still looking out the window. He looked like he was studying something outside, but he was merely avoiding eye contact. The coffee didn't taste very good to him, he hadn't made any in a while, but he wondered if X thought it was that bad. It probably tasted a little better with extra stuff in it anyway.

| Zero moved his foot from off the edge of the table allowing his chair to drop back down. He shook his head and sat the mug down on the table not really interested in drinking it anymore. It tasted bad anyway. Although X's tone was quiet he didn't really have a way to tell if X was just being polite about how it tasted or if he actually liked it.

| Zero rubbed his face before standing up and taking the tray over to the sink. He busied himself with washing all the dishes he had used and putting them away. He decided to just cook himself something to eat anyway. A burger would be fine enough. However, a minute or so into cooking, a small crowd had gathered in the cafeteria. "Right. That's why I don't cook anymore." He sighed under his breath.

| The crowd eventually got so large that X was pushed out of the room and back into the hall, tripping down a flight of stairs and landing hard on a landing with his right leg bent backwards at the knee. The joint had snapped. Not an easy fix.

| Zero swore and left his food on the counter for the others to fight over and managed to shove his way through the crowd over to X. He hauled the blue reploid up and held him up before walking to his room. The infirmary didn't have enough tools to fix something like this. "Are you alright?" He asked, a stupid question obviously, but one he couldn't help asking.

| Zero set X up on the workbench and heaved a sigh. "Sorry." He apologized finding the whole ordeal his fault. He disabled the nervous system in X's damaged leg so it wouldn't hurt as much while he worked. He managed to reposition X's leg so that everything was the right way again as he started to reconnect the broken connections.

| X stared blankly at the wall, his emerald eyes glazed over slightly. "......why are you apologizing...?" he mumbled. ".....I'm the one who got hurt...the one who was careless..."
It seemed he'd completely gone back to that secluded state of mind, the one that could only understand feelings of others being disappointed in him and of grand aspirations that only crashed to the ground.
One week wasn't enough to change several months.

| "Because it's my fault that you got hurt." Zero stated somewhat simply. He really didn't understand X's current mindset, but then again he'd never been like that himself so that was probably why. Unlike X, he didn't care what people thought of him and trained so much that it was near impossible for him to fail if he kept focus.

| Zero merely shook his head and worked on repairing X's extensively damaged joint. He would have a bit of trouble walking for a while unless he figured out how to fully repair it. He would have to go search for some parts to do that though. "You're too hard on yourself, you know?" He half asked while reconnecting all the wires that could be salvaged. He pulled out some new wiring from one of the drawers and used it to repair the other wires that were completely broken.

| X didn't respond to the half-question, instead watching as Zero worked in his knee joint. The damage was severe. He mentally compared it to when he'd almost been broken in half by that Crabs-Y, only this time he was still fully conscious.

| Zero had a feeling that when X's nervous system came back online for his leg that it would hurt like crazy. He'd had a few injuries like this and they weren't fun when you had to feel all the work you did on it. After he fixed all the remaining wires and reconnected them he searched around for some other parts he'd need. He needed a whole new joint to be broad, but some of the parts were salvagable. He grabbed some spare gears and got to work repairing the joint itself.

| It took a soild hour of working and probably a total of thirty minutes in between to find the parts he needed to finish repairing X's knee joint. He was confident that it was fully repaired, but he could be wrong. X's joint layout was slightly different from his own so it took him a little longer than it should've. "I think I got it." He said straightening up and looking over at a holo screen. "This will probably hurt." He commented before bringing X's nervous system in his leg back online.

He said while moving out of the way so that X could stand up. The real test would have to be him running and dashing if he could stand with little to no trouble. He had to factor in that it hurt.

| Once the pain had dwindled enough, X slid off the workbench and stood. The second his knee had to support his weight, it nearly buckled. That wasn't a good sign.

| Zero sat in front of X and pulled off the armor covering before examining the joint to try and figure out what was wrong. Some of the gears didn't seem to be lining up correctly. He had to pull some of the gears off and put them in one by one to fix how they were. "Any better?" He asked looking over the rest of the joint.

| X bent his knee a couple of times to test the joint. For the most part it was okay, save for a slight grinding feeling. "It feels like the gears are grinding together a bit..." he noted.

| Zero motioned for X to balance himself by leaning against the table and lifted the blue reploids leg up to bend it after X was balanced. He bent X's knee back slightly to try and figure out where the gears were grinding together. He did feel it when he bent X's leg back, but he was having some trouble locating where the problem was.
After a moment he believed he found it. He switched out the gears with new ones that were barely smaller. Maybe that would help. "How's that?" He asked letting go of X's leg so that he could test it for himself.

| X wound up wincing from discomfort again when Zero got back to work, but after the blonde finished he realized he barely even felt it when he bent his knee. To test it out, he kicked the air a few times, balanced and bounced on his right leg, and even did a small backflip. It was better than ever.

| Zero noticed X's expression deadpan again and sighed. "What do I have to do to cheer you up? Make you a cake?" He half joked. He was actually somewhat exasperated just because he didn't know how to get X out of the mood he was in.

| X quietly stood back up. "I...I'll be at the shooting range..." he mumbled. Maybe shooting until his arm fell off would calm him down, but then he'd have to go back to Zero for repairs again. Maybe he should just stay in his office and do paperwork like the good little weakling he was.
I wish I could avoid violence...but if I did, this world wouldn't be able to live in peace. So I will fight for this world, to protect humans and Reploids alike.
