| The sound of Zero's spinal cord starting to crack was enough to get X moving again. "LET HIM GO!!" he shouted, rushing toward the virus and punching him hard in the jaw.
Unfortunately, although there was a good amount of force behind it, it didn't do much except reset the virus' jaw, which wasn't broken but dislocated, apparently.
I wish I could avoid violence...but if I did, this world wouldn't be able to live in peace. So I will fight for this world, to protect humans and Reploids alike.

| Virus Zero glared at the brunette, but continued to choke the blond underneath him.
Zero took advantage of the time that the virus wasn't looking at him to do something stupid, but it would help them both. "Command Prompt, Reboot." He managed to choke out. Luckily it was only the virus' systems that responded to voice commands without a holo screen. It would reset the virus to be a killer again, but at least it wouldn't be trying to get with them both for a while.

| X froze when the virus glared at him, trembling ever so slightly. However, when he heard Zero's voice, his attention was on him in a heartbeat. Command Prompt? Reboot? What was he doing?

| The virus yelled in a fit of rage and clamped down as hard as he could before he was forced into a reboot state. He collapsed right next to Zero.
Zero's spine could be heard snapping and he groaned. The pain shot through him worse than anything else he'd felt before. He was just glad that it had actually worked. His systems were freaking out though. Too many messages popped up at once for him to read. It had something to do with the connections to his limbs.

| X had backed away when the virus yelled, but after he collapsed and it was certain that he was unconscious, X was next to Zero again. That terrible, sickening sound of his neck being snapped...X was certain the damage was severe.

| Luckily Zero couldn't die from his neck being snapped, but he was severely damaged. He could move and such, but the actions weren't exactly right. He'd have a hard time walking if he had to. He wouldn't have a sense of balance, nor any real feeling in almost his entire body. He cursed under his breath and closed his eyes. He took a moment to get rid of the messages that had popped up. He knew he was damaged. The sound was enough to tell him that.

| X took advantage of Zero closing his eyes to quickly heal the damage the virus had caused. It was a simple matter, unlike trying to completely reconstruct something that was no longer there, so it didn't take nearly as much energy and he was done in a matter of seconds. After he finished, the brunette collapsed on his side next to Zero.

| Zero pushed himself up and grabbed the virus and carried him to the basement pod that X had put him in earlier. He set the pod to try and keep Virus Zero in stasis for as long as possible. It probably wouldn't last too long, but it would last long enough. He returned back upstairs and went back into his room before collapsing onto the bed next to X again. He sighed and closed his eyes. His life was ridiculous sometimes.

| X opened his eyes a little when he felt the bed bounce from Zero landing on it. A quick inspection--without moving--revealed that the virus was no longer there. "......Where is he...?" X asked tentatively.

He had draped his arm over his eyes before X had looked around and didn't know what the brunette was doing or not. He was just.. exhausted. The virus had never been this bad before. | "...I see...." That was the only real response the brunette could muster, but it was enough to tell Zero he understood. He shifted around so that he was laying with his head on Zero's stomach, looking up at him, and his arm draped lazily across the blonde's torso, just under his chest.

| Surprisingly Zero didn't have any dreams while he was sleeping. Usually he had at least one or two. He'd never had a nice dream though. They were always nightmares or made no sense. It seemed he actually felt at peace since he was having neither of those dreams.

| X had a very peaceful dream as he slept, a rather sharp contrast to the nightmare he had a day and a half ago. He and Zero were watching the stars from the roof of the Resistance Base together, and Zero was smiling serenely. Even though it was a dream, seeing Zero so happy made the brunette smile in his sleep.

He was still in his room in the base and X was still asleep on top of him. He rubbed his eyes and hoped he would be able to go back to sleep sometime soon. He still felt exhausted.

| X's eyelids immediately became heavy when Zero started scratching the brunette's head. Before he decided to let himself fall asleep, however, he brought one hand up to Zero's face and lightly started to rub between the blonde's eyes with one finger, along the bridge of his nose. It was a trick he learned that helped Zero fall asleep all the time as a Hunter.

| Zero closed his eyes and fell asleep at the same time X did. He never understood why that relaxed him so much, but it did. Regardless, he didn't sleep so peacefully this time. He didn't move at all, which kept X asleep and him asleep as well. At one point he'd moved so that X was laying next to him instead of on top of him. When the sun was just starting to come up Zero bolted upright and looked around rather panicked. He sighed and leaned forward to rub his face with his hands. He was crouched over and breathing somewhat hard.

When Zero snapped awake, however, X woke up. The brunette sat up slowly and rubbed his eyes, which now had dark circles around them. "Wha's wrong?" he asked. "You okay?"

| "Go back to sleep." Zero ordered. It was muffled by his hands on his face however. He hadn't bothered to move from how he was hunched over. The cyber elf needed to sleep. He could tell. But he definitely wasn't going to sleep again any time soon.

| X sat up the rest of the way and scooted over to Zero, wrapping his arms around the blonde's shoulders and lightly stroking his hair. "What is it?" he asked again in a gentler tone. "Did you have a nightmare?" That was really the only thing that would snap Zero awake like that, with the exception of X waking up from a nightmare.
I wish I could avoid violence...but if I did, this world wouldn't be able to live in peace. So I will fight for this world, to protect humans and Reploids alike.

| Zero leaned against X a bit and closed his eyes. "Everything was on fire. I woke up and the room looked like it was burning." He muttered. He didn't know where the vision came from, but it seemed so familiar. He was certain that he could hear explosions going off in the background, but left that out. It didn't seem all that important.

| "On fire...?" X blinked in confusion, wondering what could possibly have caused such a traumatic nightmare. For the time being, however, he couldn't really do much except hold the blonde and try to comfort and calm him.

| Zero nodded. "...And it sounded like something was exploding and breaking apart." He said. He figured he might as well add it in. He ended up digging his nails into his head. He wanted to know where it had come from.

| X gently grasped Zero's hand and pulled it away from his head before his nails would break "skin". Even though Zero wasn't like X, as he couldn't actually bleed, it was still unnerving to see. "Please calm down," he said softly. "It was just a nightmare. Nothing will happen."
