| X could only see the markings on the virus' body when the holo screen was shut off and he was plunged into darkness. His eyes were no longer visible. Did he close them? And what did he mean by "I'll just get you"?
When the lights kicked on, though, X was speechless upon seeing his new boyfriend in a lip-lock with that accursed virus!
I wish I could avoid violence...but if I did, this world wouldn't be able to live in peace. So I will fight for this world, to protect humans and Reploids alike.

| The lights flicking back on was like a switch in Zero's mind, getting him to actually react. "What the hell are you doing?!" He yelled outraged while shoving the virus away from him. Now that was definitely the one thing he never would've expected to happen.
Virus Zero grinned, but stayed where he ended up after being shoved. "Come on now Zero, don't be like that. I know I'm a better kisser than the fairy over there." He stated glancing over at X with disdain.

| The shock had left X frozen in place, making some weird sounds that didn't quite sound human. His face was a mask of pure shock mixed with "WTF?!" and a little "Oh no he di'int!" thrown in.

| Zero glanced back at X when he heard the strange noise. He was rather worried as to what the brunette was going to do. Especially since he hadn't even done anything yet. Also his expression didn't help. He wanted to say something, but was scared to speak.
Virus Zero still had a grin on his face and he went back over to Zero. "Well if he's not going to say anything I guess you're mine now." He stated while grabbing the blonds chin and forcing him to look at him again. He looked like he was going to kiss the other blond again.

| Virus Zero wondered how he could get X to react. It took a moment, but he had the perfect plan in place. He smirked and pinned Zero against a wall, that way the blond couldn't get away easily, and kissed the blond again. He could tell X was ready to snap and that should've been enough to push him over the edge.
Zero struggled to get away and his eyes widened when the virus kissed him again. What had gotten into it? It had never shown signs of doing anything like this before, so why now?

| At that moment, X's face turned bright BRIGHT red. He was on his feet in an instant. "GET THE HELL AWAY FROM MY BOYFRIEND!!!!!!" he screeched, giving a very strong yank on the virus' hair to get him away from Zero.

| Virus Zero growled when X pulled his hair and was pulled back a few feet from Zero. He turned to face the brunette. "Don't tell me what to do pipsqueak!" He snarled jabbing the cyber elf in his chest with his finger.
Zero was partially brain dead, not being able to comprehend what was going on. He was stuck staring at the two in front of him. What did he do to deserve this?

| Virus Zero chuckled and pinched X's cheek. "Why would your face be so red if you weren't?" He questioned noticing that X had become somewhat flustered. He let go and went back over to Zero, draping his arms around the stunned blonds neck and looking back at the cyber elf with a grin.
Zero was more interested in why X had become so flustered when the virus had said that, then the blond hanging off his neck. He was fine as long as he wasn't kissing him. Unfortunately he didn't seem to be able to tell when the virus was going to do that.

| X was now red as a beet. And not from embarrassment or being flustered.
Ohhh no. None of that.
He wrenched the virus away from Zero with a near unintelligible "GET AWAY FROM HIM YOU BITCH!!!!!" and punched the virus in the face. Repeatedly.

Virus Zero bit down on X's hand hard and attempted to knee the brunette while letting out a low growl. "SHUT UP LITTLE FAIRY!!" He was more than ready to beat the crap out of the brunette. Fortunately for them both they never got the chance.
Zero managed to actually react this time and pulled them away from each other before either of them actually landed any blows. He sighed and looked rather exhausted.

| X shifted enough so that the virus missed him, but before he could retaliate he felt himself being picked up by the back of his robe. He looked at Zero with an expression like a kicked puppy, then pulled himself out of Zero's hold.
Instead of immediately lunging to grab the virus again, however, he ran off toward the cavern where he and Zero were reunited. He needed to be alone.

| Against his better judgement Zero followed X. He knew that the brunette wanted to be alone, but he still followed him. He didn't want X to be mad at him. He was worried that X would be mad at him for breaking up their fight, thinking that he sided with the virus or something like that.
Virus Zero wandered into Zero's room and looked at the armor with interest.

| Halfway to the cavern, X had started to cry, and wound up stumbling as he ran, blinded by his tears. It took a bit to understand why he was crying. It was partially out of anger toward the virus, partially out of jealousy that the virus thought he could steal Zero from him, and partially out of sadness at himself for not deleting the virus when he had the chance.
He ran as fast as he could to the cavern. He wanted to be as far from the base as possible. Once he reached the cavern, he hid in the smallest possible area he could find--which was right next to the lake--and curled into a small ball, crying into his sleeves.

| Zero had managed to keep up with X enough to see where the brunette hid and went over to the small area. "X.." He said next to the area and pulled the brunette out of it so he could hold him. He hated seeing X cry. It always caused for him to feel like it was his fault, regardless of what had happened. He sighed and rubbed the cyber elf's back in hopes that X would calm down a little.

| X immediately pulled away from Zero, backing away a bit. He wanted to be completely alone, and that included being away from Zero. He didn't want any physical contact with anyone, including Zero. That was just how he was.
He failed. He let the virus out. He gave the virus too many chances. He was weak.

| Zero felt like a lead weight hit him when X pulled away from him. He knew he shouldn't have bothered following him. He would've been hurt less that way, but apparently he just enjoyed the feeling he currently had. He got up and walked back to the base winding up near one of the training rooms. He knew he shouldn't, but he wanted to break something. He set the training level on a lower setting and made it so that it would increase every ten minutes until it was on max before going into the training room. He didn't have his sword, nor any other weapon. He was going to fight with his fists.

| X curled up into as tight a ball as he could and huddled into a small little nook in the rocks next to the lake, listening to the soft splashing sound of the water beside him. He was silent, save for an occasional shuddery gasp or hiccup as he cried.
He didn't want Zero to follow him. He didn't want to be found. He didn't want be seen like this. He knew Zero hated to see him cry. That's why he pulled away like that, so Zero would leave and not have to see him like this.
The brunette's vibrant robes had dulled again, and his halo was barely visible. He knew he would wind up killing himself like this, but he'd stopped caring. He couldn't help the one he loved. He couldn't stop the one thing they loathed. He was a failure, and he just...
He wanted to just die.
It was already nighttime. The moon--full and the size of a softball in the sky--was shining through the hole in the roof.
And affecting the tide of the lake, which was connected via an underwater tunnel to an ocean.

| Zero had trained hard enough to break the holoroom. He was panting, damaged quite a bit and his features had changed. His pupils were slits, he'd grown claws and fangs, and his hair had paled. He looked downright demonic. He'd managed to break the holoroom by throwing a chunk of the wall straight through the ceiling. After the room finally shut down he noticed that it was nighttime. The moon was full. After a moment he realized why that was important. Because of where X was hiding in the cavern. Given enough time the water would fill the small area the brunette was in. He ran back to the cavern, his new features not going away in the slightest.

| X wasn't even aware of how high the water was getting until he felt the water splashing a little when he exhaled, the air causing the surface to ripple. What's going on? he wondered, trying to look around. He yelped in pain, however, when he found he couldn't move his neck. He tried to uncurl himself to get out from that little nook in the rocks, but he couldn't move. The rock was practically pressed against him, preventing all movement.
He was effectively trapped.
After a few more moments, the water had covered his mouth and nose. Outside the area, the water would be roughly waist-high to a normal human.

| Zero reached the cavern when it had just become waist high. He jumped in and used his new found claws to dig into the wall, making the area a little larger. Large enough for him to pull X out of. He grabbed the brunette's arm and dragged him back up to the surface. He climbed out onto the grass pulling X along with him. His breathe was visible even though it wasn't cold in the cavern and some of the water that was on him was starting to freeze. He looked X over making sure that the cyber elf was okay. He didn't know how long X had been underwater.

| X had blacked out just seconds before Zero arrived, but thankfully didn't inhale any water. When Zero pulled him out of the water and set him on a higher spot in the cavern, the brunette coughed and shivered, though his shivering wasn't from the water.
Zero was cold as ice.
X looked up at the blonde. He wasn't sure if he should be happy or angry that Zero came to find him again. At the moment, he was scared.
Those claws and fangs...those eyes...that icy chill...those were all signs of the Absolute armor.
The armor that carried the virus' programming.

| "Don't look at me like that." Zero sounded a tad annoyed. "The virus has it's own set of armor. I'm fine. Other than an attitude adjustment." He informed the shivering brunette. He brushed off the frost that was starting to gather on him because of how soaked he was. The only thing that changed personality wise was that he became a little colder towards others. Regardless of who they were. His breath was starting to become even more visible and his eyes became a lighter shade of blue.

He scooted away a little, partially because he was cold, but also because, while he was grateful that Zero saved him, he still wanted to be alone. The brunette turned around while sitting, facing away from Zero. He still looked rather weak.

| Zero decided that since X was mad at him still that he'd try an experiment. After all it was better than breaking another training room. He walked over to the lake and held his foot above the water. It quickly froze over enough for him to step on. He managed to do this all the way to the other side. As amusing as it was he didn't have anything else to do now. He sighed and laid on the grass on his side with his head propped up by his hand. He was facing away from X, studying the gems stuck in the cavern wall.

| X looked over at Zero as he watched the blonde walk across the lake and back, but didn't turn to face him. When the blond decided to lay down next to him, X looked over again and opened his mouth to speak, but then closed it just as fast.
He wanted to say something. Apologize. Anything.

| Zero had started counting the number of each gem in the wall. There were only rubies and sapphires, but there were a whole lot of them. He wondered what number he'd get to before X spoke to him. A quick glance at how far he could see before moving gave him a rough estimate of maybe five thousand. He was already at 174 for rubies and 167 for sapphires. He ended up closing his eyes and sighing deeply before continuing with his counting.

| When Zero sighed like that, X became even more hesitant to speak. The blonde was upset with him, he could feel it. Instead of bothering with trying to talk when the blonde was already obviously irritated, X picked up a flat rock and tossed it, skipping it across the water a few times before it sunk.

| X looked over to Zero for a moment, then returned his blank gaze to the lake in front of him. He brought his knees up to his chest and wrapped his arms tight around his legs, resting his chin on his knees.
How could he tell Zero he was a failure? He remembered the first time he'd failed a mission and had to report to Zero. Zero chewed him out for it and ensured that X would never fail again. This time he made the biggest failure in his entire life.

| Zero got up and grabbed X by his robes. He pulled the cyber elf up and carried him over his shoulder before walking back to the brunettes room. He might as well mope in his own room if he was going to do so. He ended up tapping his claws against X's spine while he walked, a sign that he was slightly irritated. He was sure that X would be freezing by the time they got to his room.

| X didn't bother struggling to get off of Zero's shoulder when the blonde was carrying him, though the rhythmic drumming of claws on his spine unnerved him. It was just another sign that Zero was angry at him, and that he should just leave the blonde alone for a while.
He did, however, start to shiver from how icy the air around Zero was, coupled by the fact that he was still soaked.

| Zero stopped a few feet into X's room and set the brunette on his feet. "You should take a shower." It was half an order, but he didn't stay long to see if X listened to him or not. He turned away, ready to leave X alone and go back to his own room. The cyber elf could to what he wanted. He was just tired of this mood X was in. His amount of patience dropped dramatically when he was like he was, but he still managed to be somewhat civil towards X. If it were anyone else he probably would've gone off on them.

| X stood there for a moment, shivering and still dripping wet, when Zero turned to leave. Before the blonde could leave, however, X had rushed to him, hugging him tightly from behind and burying his face against Zero's back, crying.
"I'm so sorry!" he cried. "I screwed up again! The virus got let out because of me! I'm sorry!!"
He didn't let go of Zero, but if the blonde decided to pull away, he would let go and not try to keep him there. After all, who would want to be used as a tear pillow for a bipolar, teenage girl-like Cyber-elf?
((I really need to stop writing lines and then reading them in my mind how I imagine the character says them. I actually started crying a little when I wrote X's line.))
I wish I could avoid violence...but if I did, this world wouldn't be able to live in peace. So I will fight for this world, to protect humans and Reploids alike.

| Zero pulled away, but only to turn around and face X. He wrapped one of his arms around X's shoulder and shook his head. "It's not your fault X. If anything it's mine." He reassured, wiping away the cyber elf's tears as best he could. He was worried that X would get sick because of how cold he was and how soaked his clothes still were. "You should rinse off and change." He said not wanting the brunette to get sick. He wasn't even sure if cyber elves could get sick.
(( It's okay. I do that all the time. Even with some of the things you have X say. ))

| X was still sniffling and hiccuping even when Zero tried to wipe his tears away. He shook his head. "N-no, it's n-not!" he protested, his voice now jumping from his sobbing. "It--it's my f-fault!! It al-always has b-been! I c-can't do any--anything right!"
He failed to delete the virus when it tried to override the pod Zero was in when they scanned him. He failed to delete it when they scanned him again and tracked down the source file--this time activating it instead. And he failed to delete it before it could manifest itself in a physical form. He couldn't protect Zero from the virus, no matter what he did.
He didn't care if he got sick. It couldn't be worse than what happened to him the day before, after all.
I wish I could avoid violence...but if I did, this world wouldn't be able to live in peace. So I will fight for this world, to protect humans and Reploids alike.

| "X," Zero began, somewhat sternly but softly. "Hush. You push too much on yourself. Some of us have to be responsible for things that happen too." He stated knowing that X tended to push the blame on himself whenever something went wrong that he was a part of. Sometimes it wasn't even close to being his fault, but he still blamed himself anyway.
"If I hadn't had made you perform the scans then this wouldn't have happened. It's my fault all this happened." He said completely believing that to be true. If he'd just left it alone it might've stayed partially dormant for a while longer.
"And at least change. I don't think you want me forcing you to change." He said even though he himself didn't have more clothes to change into.

| X was still shaking slightly, but he was definitely trying to calm down. He tried so many times not to blame himself for things, but it was difficult because he felt like when he did that, he was just pushing the blame on others and it hurt. But it wasn't just Zero's fault! If X hadn't agreed to scanning him then maybe--
No.
He needed to stop now.
When X opened his eyes again, he noticed that his appearance was starting to become somewhat transparent. If he didn't calm down he would end up killing himself.
Zero was right on one thing though. He did need to change his clothes. But after he did, he wanted to spend some more time with Zero.

| Zero kissed X's head gently. He could tell that X's stress level was causing him to wear himself out again. He pushed his hair back wondering where he'd find another set of clothes. He would've been fine with a pair of pants, but he had a feeling X wouldn't be comfortable with that. Or maybe he'd be fine with it. He really didn't know.

| X started to calm down a bit more after Zero kissed him on the head. Almost immediately the transparency he had taken on was gone, and his color seemed to be coming back. The brunette looked up at the now much-taller blonde. "I'll go change," he said, his voice still just a little shaky from having been crying. "Do you need to borrow some clothes? I think I might have something that will fit."

| Zero nodded. "Yeah. I don't have any actual clothes." He stated remembering how he'd found the ones he was wearing in the laundry room. He had no idea whose they were, but since there weren't that many people in the base it didn't really matter.

| X nodded and started rummaging through his closet and dresser for something Zero could wear. He had a good deal of clothes that were much too big for him, but would probably fit the now much-taller Reploid. After some searching, he'd found a long-sleeved red shirt and a pair of dark grey sweats.
"Here you go," he said, tossing the clothes over to Zero before hunting for something for himself. "Those should fit. They're way too big for me. I have more stuff that doesn't fit me right, maybe it'll fit you."

| Zero caught the clothes and changed quickly before X even managed to find clothes for himself. "Thanks." He said before throwing the soaked clothes into a laundry bin. He figured X wouldn't mind him changing where he was since the brunette wasn't facing him. He went into the bathroom and washed out his hair to get the smell out and dries it off with a towel. Surprisingly his hair didn't get frost bits in it. It seemed he'd dried it enough to prevent that. He went back out into the bedroom while tying up his hair again.

| While Zero was in the bathroom, X quickly changed into a comfortable, warm set of pajamas. They were white with small blue stars all over them. He dried his hair as best he could, deciding to just wait until morning to take a shower and get the smell out. It wasn't as bad as Zero's since Zero had much longer, thicker hair and it trapped the water more.
The brunette plopped down on the bed with his legs crossed, watching Zero.

| Zero looked at X noticing the brunette was watching him. He found it strange that his breath was visible but he was used to it, at least as used to it as he could get. He went over to the cyber elf and sat on the edge of the bed, wondering if the brunette wanted him to stay or not. Sometimes it was hard to tell what mood X was in.

| When Zero sat down next to X, the brunette scooted closer to him and rested his head on his shoulder. He wanted to spend as much time with Zero as he could, to make up for the century-long stasis and his disappearance over the last...
How long had it been since he vanished in the fall of Ragnarok, anyway?
Ah well. No need to worry over it. What mattered was that Zero had come back.
The brunette smiled serenely, happy to just be around him.

| Zero wrapped one of his arms around the brunettes waist and wondered slightly how X wasn't cold. But it didn't matter as long as the cyber elf was comfortable was all that matter to him. His mind started to wander however. He wondered how long he had been missing. Everything seemed so familiar, but not at the same time. He hated it, but he was just glad he had X again. That was the thing that made everything more bearable.
