| X collapsed onto his knees when the virus' influence started to sink in. The brunette felt like he was in absolutely agonizing pain. He'd made a terrible mistake. He wasn't able to fight it off himself.

| Zero could tell something was wrong after a moment since the virus didn't have a quite as strong presence as usual. He just assumed that X was in trouble since the virus didn't exactly have anyone else to go after. He quickly went through codes and prompts on his holo screen before he collapsed next to the chaser. He'd forced himself into a hibernation state, which was risky especially since he wasn't in a pod, but it would completely halt the virus regardless of what it was doing. X would be fine, although Zero might not be.

| X had blacked out sometime before Zero arrived, and now had jet-black veins running across his arms, throat, legs, and near his eyes. The virus had managed to incorporate partially into the brunette's body before Zero pulled him away.

| Zero was stuck how he was until someone came by and entered in the code to wake him. However the only other person still alive that knew it was X. It probably wasn't the best plan, in fact far from it, but it was the only thing he'd thought of at the time.

| Eventually the black veins faded away, and X woke back up. He blinked in confusion a few times, looking around. The brunette paused when he saw Zero unconscious next to him. He sat up and was about to put in the command prompt to wake him, but paused. How would he know that Zero wouldn't just betray him, like the virus would take over?
No, that was silly. Zero saved him.
The brunette input all three codes to wake up Zero.

| It took a few minutes but his systems slowly came back online. Thankfully he wasn't asleep long enough for the hibernation effect to lock out his systems. He groaned and sat up before rubbing his head. Upon seeing X though, his first instinct was to become reserved once again. It didn't make sense considering he'd just dashed over here to help the brunette, but that was just what he did.

| X was relieved upon seeing Zero wake up, but that relief was immediately shattered by a crippling pain that wracked his entire body. The brunette collapsed onto his side, clutching his chest. The pain was excruciating, thankfully not enough to cause the elf to fade away but enough to elicit a weak cry of pain.

| X went completely limp in Zero's arms as the virus seized control from him, stopping his heart. He managed to cling to consciousness for a brief moment afterward and whisper two simple words.

| X remained unresponsive after Zero set him back down. The black veins started to reemerge on his arms, legs, and throat. It seemed the virus wasn't able to keep itself fully integrated into him, and this current state of being was keeping his systems stable. Unfortunately he wasn't able to wake himself up.

The virus stated while glancing over at the side of the building to make sure Zero didn't climb back up too quickly. He held out his hand and a purple aura engulfed it. He smirked before crouching down next to X and placing his virus covered hand over X's forehead and eyes. It would increase how quickly X would be infected by quite a bit.

| X's mind registered that instead of it being the virus talking, it was actually Zero. Perhaps part of him was still infected and was controlling him. Either way, he didn't try to move when the blonde covered his eyes. His breathing slowed notably as he was put into a trance-like state, almost a hibernation mode but not quite.

| "Like I just had a heart attack..." replied X before groaning in pain and shutting his eyes. The brunette was definitely in pain. He managed to pull the tear in his tank top open enough to reveal a blackish-purple spot on his chest, where his "heart" would be.

| Zero grimaced when he saw the spot. He had no idea what would make the cyber elf feel better. It might just be an adverse reaction to the virus that X was having. But would it cause a spot like that? He didn't want to tell X he didn't know what to do, but he couldn't just lie to him either.

| X looked down at the spot on his chest, wincing when he noticed the starts of black veins around its perimeter. "Wh...what is that...?" he asked in worry.
